Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Let me explain it to you: User :   Yes Please..
Doctor :   Neurofibroma as you know are genetic disorders do to genetic mutations changing the function and the growth of the cell.
Doctor :   Neurofibroma is the excess growth of the neural tissue that is the sheath over the nerve.
Doctor :   They are usually divided into two types: Doctor :   1. Dermal neurofibromas
Doctor :   2. Plexiform neurofibromas.
User :   ok..
Doctor :   Dermal neurofibromas are the benign conditions which usually do not show any malignant transformation.
Doctor :   while plexiform is a malignant variant.
User :   I think mine is plexiform
Doctor :   As you have already got FNAC done and the doctor have said nothing to worry, then it most probably would be dermal variant.
Doctor :   Why do you think that its plexiform variant?
User :   as u stated that Dermal does not show malignant transformation..
Doctor :   yes, but both can produce similar symptoms like pain, itching, disfiguration and only can be differentiated through FNAC showing the histology.
User :   ok..
Doctor :   So, please do not worry and see the FNAC report stating the type.
Doctor :   If you are annoyed of the apperance then you can get it surgically removed.
User :   Ok..
Doctor :   But as you have many on your wrist you would have to go for multiple excisions.
User :   I am only annoyed with the appearance only.. Thats the reason I want that to be removed..
Doctor :   But multiple excisions too would produce multiple scar marks.
User :   Is there any other solution other than surgical removal?
User :   may be laser or something else?
Doctor :   Carbon di oxide laser is a treatment option which would remove the fibromas but these too would produce scar marks but you have to discuss this with the dermatologists regarding the appearence of the scar marks.
User :   Ok..
Doctor :   If you are fine with those scar marks then you can proceed with the procedure for removal.
Doctor :   But I would advise you to follow your doctor's advise and do not worry about this.
User :   Is it possible for me to get only two fibromas removed from my wrist which looks very odd..?
User :   I think that will not put more scars also...
Doctor :   Yes, it is possible and please discuss with the dermatologist on your visit.
User :   ok..
User :   No I don't have any queries as of now.
User :   Thanks a lot
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting me.
Doctor :   Take care
Doctor :   Pleasure is mine.
Doctor :   Bye for now.
User :   It was really a helpful consulting. Good night
