ok
Doctor :
please provide your age, gender, and location
User :   the other day I felt fine and out of nowhere very quickly my neck locked and I have severe pain and a throbbing headache I would like your opinion as I waited several hours and finally went to the ER and was treated in a rude manner as was confronted multiple times because I have chronic pain and do take pain meds...
User :   21 m ID
Doctor :   ok
User :   I told them I didn't about medications I wanted to find out what was wrong...
Doctor :
was the onset sudden? or were you having some pain already when this happened?
User :   I only had some tenderness the day before it hit within seconds
Doctor :
ok
User :   I still have it I feel as though I do not wish to move my neck at all
Doctor :
was there trauma associated ?
Doctor :

User :   with the chronic pain?
Doctor :

User :   we honestly are still putting together a case we did find an area of scar tissure 1in by 1in in the rear of my brain
User :   I have several doctors helping me with this
User :   is there a way you can call me this is a long story?
Doctor :
ok
Doctor :
i will help you in this
Doctor :
please tell me in sequence what all happened from the beginning such that i can come to a conclusion and explain you better.
User :   the chronic pain is another story completely it is still there yes, what im worried about is how I was just sent away without any diagnosis how would like me to start what exactly would you like to know i apologize I didn't sleep last night and would really appriciate it if I could talk to someone on the phone I'll pay extra or whatever needs to be done
Doctor :
i can understand your frustration, and i will be happy to help you.
Doctor :
the most common cause for the neck stiffness and pain is muscle spasm.
User :   yes I was told that there is an associated new headache and I have a very high fever
Doctor :
the muscle spasm could be caused due to chronic problems like spondylosis
Doctor :
or acute problems like trauma and sudden movements that could make chronic problem to flare up.
User :   that sounds understandable, but why would I have a fever of near 103?
Doctor :
ok
Doctor :
since you did not tell me of fever before, i could not assess th problem, and that is why i asked you for a sequential details for the problems that you are facing.
Doctor :
now that you have told that you are having high fever
Doctor :
the diagnosis points to infective causes
User :   I'm sorry I'm trying my best here I thought I said I'm not a chatter...haha
User :   should have said it first
Doctor :
it is fine
Doctor :
so the most common infective cause will be due to viral meningitis
User :   here's the thing, how can I exclude meningitus?
User :   wow ironic
Doctor :
which commonly presents with acute severe neck stiffness and pain and high fever
User :   ok I have insurance should I go back and demand a spinal tap?
Doctor :
in this the patient when lying down will not be able to flex the neck and touch the chest with chin
Doctor :
yes it will be better that a spinal tap is done and proper medications continued
User :   I can almost do it but with great pain
Doctor :
you will also need an x-ray of neck
User :   ok thanyou I will go back
User :   thankyou for you time
Doctor :
you are welcome
Doctor :
is there anything else i can help you with?
Doctor :
