Doctor:I need to know your symptoms in detail to be better able to help you.
Doctor:I also need to know your age and gender.
User:I have a sore throat from a long time
User:and my nose feels blocked whenever i breath in
User:the endoscopy was done 2 months ago which said grade b oesophagitis
Doctor:What is your age and gender?
User:26 male
Doctor:From the symptoms that you have described it seems that you are developing allergies.
Doctor:Dark circles around the eyes are called as allergy shiners.
Doctor:You may be feeling tired just because of the fact that you are not feeling well.
Doctor:Weakness can have other causes too that need to be ruled out by blood tests.
User:blood test was also done along with endoscopy.. nothing abnormal..
Doctor:My advise would be as follows.
Doctor:Do not take unnecessary medicines especially antibiotics.
Doctor:For an episode of allergy you may take anti-allergic like cetrizine.
Doctor:For blocked nose you may get a prescription of nose spray from your doctor.
Doctor:Otherwise take hygienic food and drink clean water from a reliable water source.
Doctor:Packaged water is not reliable
Doctor:You may want a ro system in your house.
Doctor:This I am advising as you may get frequent viral infections in the setting of allergies.
Doctor:Are you there?
Doctor:Healthy life-style usually takes care of most health problems.
Doctor:Try to find the trigger of allergies and avoid it.
Doctor:Fruits and vegetables are to be included in your daily diet.
Doctor:A control of reflux is needed as it may cause exacerbations of cough.
User:I do not take antibiotics and i workout everyday and my regular diet usually involves lots of eggs and fruits and chicken and i avoid all kinds of junk food..
Doctor:That is good to know.
User:can u tel me the dose i need to take for cetrizine
Doctor:Also include fiber in your diet.
User:and any specific nasal spray i shd ask my doctor to prescribe?
Doctor:cetrizine is usually 5 or 10 mg in a day preferably before sleeping.
Doctor:Nasal spray is usually a steroid preparation.
Doctor:All medicines for coughs and allergies are to be taken only if required.
Doctor:Do you have any question?
User:for how many days shd i take cetrizine?
Doctor:It just takes care of the symptoms like runny nose and sneezing.
Doctor:Thus it is taken when symptoms are present.
Doctor:It is usually not prescribed for days.
User:and also one more thing.. i wanted to take protein or weight gain supplements for my workouts.. will that worsen my GERD?
User:ok but i do not have running nose or sneezing
Doctor:I do not think they have an effect on gerd.
User:only my nose is blocked
Doctor:Yes blocked nose can be taken care of with cetrizine or nasal spray.
Doctor:Also get yourself checked by an ear, nose and throat specialist to see if any other cause of blocked nose is present.
User:thank you
Doctor:Did you understand what I described?
Doctor:Do you have any other question?
Doctor:I need to close the chat window now.
