User :   Hi I was the hair on my 13 month old and noticed he had slightly moveable lump on his lower left back of skull. It never bothered him, and never was sore. Too me I never felt it before. I am very very concerned with this. The lump is about the size of a dime. thanks
Doctor :   hi
User :   hi
Doctor :   Dr. XXXXXXXX here. let me read what you have typed
Doctor :   could describe the lump in more detail along with exact location?
Doctor :   is the lump soft/hard/firm in consistency? is the skin over it stretchy? is there any color change in skin over it? is it freely movable in all directions?
User :   its on his lower left skull kind of in the middle of his left lower skull. its slightley moveable, and there is no redden area around it
User :   its soft and hard
Doctor :   ok
User :   I really didn't want to pushing it toomuch before it got sore
Doctor :   if the lump does not pain, you can leave it alone, but keep observing for any changes in it like with consistency and pain and appreance
Doctor :   if the child develops fever or pain, or gets lethargic, report to his doctor immediately
Doctor :   and get him and the lump examined.
User :   ok I was really worried I lost a niece last year to brain cancer
Doctor :   what was her age at death?
User :   13
User :   sorry 12
Doctor :   do you mean to say 12 years?
User :   yes
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   since there is a family history of brain cancer, it would be wise to get an early examination done and be vigilant
User :   Hes very lively and has tons of energy. Yes I was thinking of that
Doctor :   although brain cancer will not manifest as swelling outside the skull normally.
User :   I have a lot of flies where I live so I thought maybe it was a fly bite and his nodes got swollen
Doctor :   yes that could also be a possibility. if he has got lots of bites in head and face, it could also be a lymph node, but the lymph node would be
Doctor :   lower in location
User :   it is lower left skull
Doctor :   not in the middle of the left skull bone
User :   no no sorry lower left skull
Doctor :   if it is almost near the hairline towards junction of head and neck, then it could be a lymph node
User :   yes it is its just above his hair
Doctor :   and you can leave it alone if lots of fly bites are associated
User :   Yah I just didn't noticed any fly bites on him but maybe somewhere there is one I'm just not seeing
Doctor :   ok
User :   but thank you for your input
Doctor :   is there anything else i can help you with?
User :   no thank you
Doctor :   thanks for consulting me. bye for now.
