User :   I recently miscarried. I was a little over 6 weeks pregnant. I didn't have a D&C-pretty much everything took care of itself (for lack of better words). I just recently saw what appears to maybe be a bruise right underneath my left areola. I also noticed that the bottom side of my areola seemed a lot more sensitive and red. It looks a bit swollen also. Is this something thats normal after a miscarriage and I'm just overreacting or should I get it checked out?
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   I
Doctor :   let me read your query
User :   Hello. Alright. Thank you
Doctor :   Is it the same change in areola on both sides?

User :   No the other one seems fine.
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   How about on touching the area?
User :   It's a lot more sensitive. It feels like it did when I was pregnant.
Doctor :   Ok

Doctor :   Since when are you feeling it?
User :   The dark spot showed up about 3 days ago, and the swelling and tenderness showed up yesterday.
Doctor :   Ok

Doctor :   it does mean an injury related, as per your description
Doctor :   do you remember of one like that?
User :   I dont recall injuring it. As the bruise (If it is one) isn't sore. Just the areola is sore.
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   a blunt injury can cause such a presentation
Doctor :   did you have any fever of late?
User :   No, no fever.
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   for now I recommend you to observe for another 3 days from now
Doctor :   meanwhile you can give hot fomentation
Doctor :   for faster clearance
User :   you mean like a heating pad?
Doctor :   and if it does not get better by then
Doctor :   you should report to the doctor in person
Doctor :   yes, a heating pad is fine enough
User :   Alright sounds good, Thank you
Doctor :   Do you have any other questions?

User :   No thats all for now. Thank you very much
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting, bye for now
