User:Hi doctor
User:I am 32 yrs old, male
User:Have been suffering from a mild intermittent fever for the past 3 days
User:I am based in Mumbai
User:Had traveled to Delhi for 3 days last week
User:and since I came back, have been having this problem
User:Had taken 2 crocin tabs a day
User:temporary relief, but then the fever comes back
Doctor:Do u have any symptoms like cough, chest pain, shortness of breath, etc ?
User:have normal appetite but still have weakness
User:mild cough, some greenish thick sputum, shortness of breath and stuffed nose as well
Doctor:any runny nose, nose blocks, etc ?
User:no chest pain
User:have been wearing a jacket or sweater since I came back
Doctor:so, you may be having having a sinus infection, due to travelling
User:Very uncomfortable with fan or AC on
User:Sinus infection is possible. But how about the fever that persists
Doctor:for the time being, you can use Vicks, or strepsils, to help reduce your cough
Doctor:in addition, steam inhalation, and saline gargles , 3-4 times a day will also help
User:Sure doctor, will do this
Doctor:you may also need a prescription of antibiotics, for 3-5 days , to clear the infection, which is the cause of your XXXXXXX sputum
User:Anything that you would advice for the persistent fever and accompanying weakness please? That is causing more problems than the cold
Doctor:in the mean time, you can take crocin 500 mg 3 times a day to relieve your fatigue and fever
Doctor:you can take EVION 400 capsules , once daily for 5- 6 days
Doctor:this will relieve your weakness
User:Acknowledged doctor. Which antibiotic would you recommend please?
Doctor:Sorry antibiotics need to given after a due clinical examination, and not online
Doctor:I hope u understand
User:okay doctor
User:so for now I should take: Crocin 500 mg 3 times a day, Evion 400 capsules once a day, Plus saline gargles, steam inhalation and Vicks / Strepsils
Doctor:yes, that is right
User:My GP generally prescribes Azithral 250 mg, twice a day, for 5 days
Doctor:You can consult him, for the proper prescription
User:Sure. Is Azithral a general purpose antibiotic like Ciplox?
Doctor:no , it is a broad spectrum antibiotic , and not for general purpose
Doctor:all antibiotics are not for general purpose
Doctor:taking them, for simple reasons is the reason why infections are so common and bacteria are resistent to most antibiotics now a days
Doctor:so unless and until prescribed by a doctor, do not take such medications as they have side effects , which can cause diarrhea, indigestion, etc
User:Acknowledged doctor. Thank you for your advice.
