User :   Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here
Doctor :   Hi
User :   Are you the same Dr. as before? I was saying I think I need to have my uterus out also and what diet and what exercise plan?
Doctor :   yes the same doctor
User :   Hello again. Glad I got you still.
Doctor :   yes the removal of the uterus will bring permanent relief to the bleeding episodes
User :   I feel a little more hopeful after talking with you.
Doctor :   nothing is impossible
Doctor :   i mean
Doctor :   everything is possible but nothing comes easy
User :   I feel less frightened since I get to speak to an actual doctor who knows things and not just guess by myself.
Doctor :   there is a solution for all the problems but it is not that easy
Doctor :   do not guess
Doctor :   it causes more harm than actuall
User :   Possible is good enough for me!
Doctor :   first is to reduce the weight
Doctor :   for which you need to work really hard
User :   I am very confused because every diet plan is different and says different things
Doctor :   progressive reduction in the food you consume and progressive increase in the exercise
Doctor :   no need of any diet plan
Doctor :   just reduce the content of the food every day what you eat
Doctor :   like
Doctor :   what the amount of break fast you take reduce to 75% of it
Doctor :   strictly limit eat or drink only three to four times a day
Doctor :   start the exercise lightly from day one
Doctor :   and progress it to strenuous activity gradually
Doctor :   not only reduction in the food is important but also burning the build up fat is also necessary
User :   Exercise every day or every other day?
Doctor :   the goal is for 2 to 3 months
Doctor :   exercise every day with increase in the duration
Doctor :   just walking is not sufficient
Doctor :   start of with walking for 15 to 30 minutes
User :   Surgeon would operate if I weighed how much for my 5'5"?
User :   I fear no one will operate now and the insurance company would not insure me because of my weight.
User :   What about 2 to 3 months? Lose how fast?
User :   Do I ignore that hunger pangs or eat when hungry as in listen to hunger signals or not?
Doctor :   yes the hernia operation cannot be undertaken if there is too much of abdominal fat as it will cause high rate of failure in surgeries
Doctor :   so it is not only the weight you loose the abdominal fat also need to be burnt
User :   I want to lose weight and get in better shape even if I did not feel I need surgery. No hernia surgery. I need uterus removed I believe.
Doctor :   unless the weight comes down to around 120 lbs it is difficult for the hernia surgery to be done
Doctor :   yes the uterus removal and hernia repair both is necessary
User :   I used to like to do yoga but have to work back up now. Also have some weight training and cardio tapes but I can't do very much right now.
Doctor :   have you checked the thyroid status ?
User :   I don't think anyone checked that.
User :   Do you think my hernia repair needs re-repairing?
Doctor :   have you undergone the hernia repair surgery ?
User :   It will be hard to think about the relief I could have with uterus removal and have to wait while I lose weight. Yes I had hernia surgery. I have metal staples in my stomach the surgeon said.
Doctor :   till now i was thinking you have been asked to reduce the weight for the hernia repair
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   no need to worry
Doctor :   uterus can be operated now also
Doctor :   it can be done with vaginal removal
Doctor :   called vaginal hysterectomy
Doctor :   it does not require the weight reduction
Doctor :   you can approach the obgyn for the same
Doctor :   after the surgery
Doctor :   you can strictly start the weight reduction programme
Doctor :   Hi
User :   My obgyn's office staff would not make me an appointment said I was not a current patient and with no health insurance they would not schedule me and and the health insurance company said they would not insure me with my current weight. How do I go about getting the surgery?
User :   Oh, hi again! I am on the phone with my husband. He said he would call surgeons if I was serious about the surgery.
Doctor :   you have two ways
Doctor :   one is to find the obgyn who can assist you with out the insurance
Doctor :   the other way is to ask the insurance company what their policy is about the weight and the cut of limits for the weight for them to insure you
Doctor :   if you find the doctor who can perform surgery with out insurance its good
Doctor :   if not to fit yourself into the insurance plan
User :   Try to call obgyns just "surgeons" or what? And I would have to lose weight before the surgery for the insurance company probably.
Doctor :   uterus removal is obgyn territory, you need to find the obgyn.
Doctor :   you can start both same time weight reduction programme and finding the obgyn
Doctor :   weight reduction has much positive effect on you
Doctor :   it not only fits you in the insurance plan but give you relief from much of the distressing symptoms
Doctor :   and it also has the feeling of well being
User :   I feel better now because I have a positive plan of action. Thank you. I had been getting pretty depressed.
Doctor :   is there anything else i can help you with ?
User :   you are an obgyn? My daughter is 15 and started her periods recently but she has only had 3 or so she has one and then nothing for several months and then one and then nothing and she lost a lot of weight but she eats she told me she is not anorexic. she is 5
Doctor :   what is her height and weight ?
User :   5'4" and weighs 112. I looked her up on a chart and it says the lowest normal weight for her is 108. Is the few periods normal or because of her weight should I worry
Doctor :   what about her Hemoglobin levels,
Doctor :   what i mean is does she look anemic ?
User :   I do not know. Should I take her to the doctor? I got her on the insurance but her baby doctor retired and gyn or internist?
User :   She gets cold but she always has had trouble with cold weather. She always liked warm weather better. She seems a little tired but she won
User :   won't slow down. She was the valedictorian of her 8th grade class and is in a medical magnet program and wants to be a nurse.
Doctor :   it is gynecologist whom you should take her
Doctor :   good she wants to be in medical field
Doctor :   the initial menstruation is usually irregular
Doctor :   and it will settle down
User :   Thank you. I just worry about her weight and periods right now.
Doctor :   the irregularity is due to the hormonal imbalance, anemia stress of puberty
User :   What age should girls start having gynecological exams? I never liked them and I hate to have her start all that and would like to wait to as old as possible.
Doctor :   it is better you once get her checked with the gynecologist
Doctor :   gynecological examinations are done only if necessary
Doctor :   it can be done at any age but only when necessary
User :   Oh, that is good to know.
User :   Her sister is 13 and had not started periods and is even maybe a little overweight but not too bad and she has plenty of energy but rests more than her big sister and seems to like to sleep more.
User :   Her dad is trying to get her to walk more and eat more fresh fruit. She is very strong however.
Doctor :   it is common for the kids to be more sleepy
Doctor :   we call it lazy in common language
Doctor :   it is something to do with the daily habits
User :   Her dad said boys (brother is 14) grow when they are sleeping and teenage boys like to sleep a lot.
Doctor :   girls grow faster than boys till the age of 16 to 18
Doctor :   after that boys out number girls in both physical character and intelligence
User :   Interesting. XXXXXXXX is about 5'7" right now and about 154 pounds.
