User :   and the test was on January 4th
Doctor :

the levels less than 5 which is more than one month. this means you are negative for pregnancy

apart from these very few drugs most drugs do not interfere with the blood pregnancy test

if you are in doubt than you can do a repeat blood pregnancy test after 2days of the first test

Doctor :
is there anything else i can help you with?
User :   the problem is that I didn't miss the period but I got a light period that confused me that was why I was testing
Doctor :   ok
User :   is it normal when you are taking birth control pills to get a very light period?
Doctor :
birth control periods do alter the menstrual flow(bleeding) in some it may be increased bleeding and in some it is decreased bleeding
Doctor :
it is the most common side effect
User :   but how much it is decreased
User :   because for example I didn't need to change a pad, I change it just due to cleanliness
Doctor :   the decrease in the menstrual flow caused by the birth control pills varies.
Doctor :
it may vary from less number of pads used to no mensturation at all
User :   so if you are on birth control which is the sign that you are not pregnant?
User :   that you get a period? eventhough it is a very light one?
Doctor :   birth control pills if used regularly will protect a women from conception
Doctor :
the effective rate is as high as 98%
Doctor :   so to detect the failure of the pills the only way is to get the urine or blood pregnancy test done when there is a missed period.
Doctor :   if the pregnancy test is negative in the missed period than the women is not pregnant
Doctor :
as such there is no clinical sign or symptom to say that the women is not pregnant who is on birthcontrol pills when and she has a missed period
User :   and if you get a light period this is counted as a period on birth control pills?
Doctor :
yes
User :   and for example if you were to get pregnant while on birth control pills
User :   you won't get the withdrawal bleeding ("period") from the birth control pills, right?
Doctor :
yes
