Doctor :
ok
User :   but since even after i hav been drinkin, smokin, a lil bi9t of tension
User :   so am jus scared that it doesnt result in an other clot
Doctor :
you could have continued Ecosprin, it is a good antiplatelet agent, to prevent blood clotting
Doctor :
besides smoking is known to make it worse
Doctor :
so it is advised that you quit smoking
User :   but if i take it nw, will it imediately start affecting
Doctor :
yes it should start affecting in about half hours time
User :   n hw long do i go with it?
Doctor :
if there is venous thrombosis that you are having, you will need to continue the drug

User :   but is thr any side affect?
Doctor :
it will continue
Doctor :
throughout
User :   it was venus thrombosis in the subclavian vein right hand
Doctor :
ok
Doctor :
and smoking is a risk factor for venous thrombosis
User :   yes i knw that
Doctor :
you will have to quit it to prevent furher complications and advancements of this disease
User :   ok
Doctor :
and continue taking warfarin if problem is more
User :   but doc right nw i dont hav a clot , am jus scared mentally abt havin it cooz of my history of drinkin n smokin
Doctor :
or else maintain control with ecosprin
Doctor :
ok
Doctor :
then for prevention from getting it again, then it will be good to continue ecosprin 75 mg daily
User :   u mean throughout my life, is thr no side effect????
Doctor :
there is, and that is why every month or two months you have to check the prothrombin time and INR if taking these drugs
Doctor :   there should be continuous monitoring also
User :   yes, i took ecosprin for 1 yr n i got my pt n inr checked as per my vascular surgeon
Doctor :
People usually take treatment for a minimum of 3 months, but sometimes they must take it for the rest of their lives, depending on their risk factors developing for another clot.
Doctor :   and since you are smoking and consuming alcohol, it is advised that you consult your vascular surgeonb again and continue the treatment
User :   the dosage got over in jan 08
User :   no but i have jus given up a couple of days ago, do i hav to worry????
Doctor :
continue the treatment after checking basal PT and INR
Doctor :
pardon me. i did not understand. what have you given up a couple of days ago?
User :   drinkin n smoking
Doctor :
ok
Doctor :
in that case when was the last time your PT and INR was checked?
User :   jan 08
User :   i was perfectly normal inmarch 07 my clot was clear, n dint exist
Doctor :
then it is advised that you check it again.
Doctor :
ok
User :   but i continued ecosprin until jan 08
Doctor :
ok
Doctor :
that is good
User :   ok if i take a warf 5, does that prevent a clot>?
Doctor :
warfarin will help in dissolving the clot
Doctor :
aspirin or ecosprin will help to prevent it
