User :   the main problem is like the moment if he take tummy full of milk he is vomiting it immediately or after giving any medicine
User :   today it got settled down
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Let me brief you.
Doctor :   The main treatment in conditions of vomiting and diarrhoea in a pediatric age group is the oral rehydration salt replenishment.
Doctor :   Though I am unaware of the ingredients of power gel, I guess its the ORS replenishment that has been prescribed.
User :   but when i tried to give ORS he is not taking it and if i am forcing him he is vomiting it immediately
Doctor :   If the problem is vomiting following fluid, I suggest you to give the antiemetic (vomiting medication) half an hour before the trying the fluids.
Doctor :   It should settle with it.
Doctor :   Have you followed what I have suggested?
User :   the ingredients of powergyl is simethicone, norfloxacin, metronidazole, benzoate.
User :   yeah i got it
Doctor :   These are antibiotics which has to be given as suggested by you doctor.
Doctor :   You can dilute them with fluids and administer them as suggested.
Doctor :   However, continue with fluid replenishment.
User :   even my doctor said not to feed him milk. asked me to give glucose water as a supplement of milk to avoid loose motion
Doctor :   Milk contains lactose which can increase loose stools in some kids.
User :   can we give him only glucose water instead of milk
Doctor :   So you may avoid it,
Doctor :   Glucose water with salt has to be given and not just plain glucose water.
Doctor :   You can include a pinch of salt to a teaspoon of sugar in a glass of water and feed him the same.
User :   ok
Doctor :   This is almost an equivalent to ORS.
User :   okey
Doctor :   Do not force him, feed him as much as possible.
Doctor :   If he refuses to drink after some time, you can stop it.
Doctor :   Restart it, if he has another bout of diarrhoea.
User :   actually the main problem is he is not even taking single drop of ORS so we need to force him to take that
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Continue the ORS or the salt-glucose water as long as the diarrhea lasts.
Doctor :   If there are symptoms of dehydration, such as
Doctor :   reduced activity, less tears from the eyes, dry tongue, reduced urination and so on.
Doctor :   Consult you pediatrician immediately.
User :   normally this bout of diarrhea last for how many days for teeathing problem
User :   okey
Doctor :   The cause may not be just due to teething, it probably is because of infection probably viral or bacterial.
User :   okey
Doctor :   If the cause is a viral illness, with ORS fluid replenishment
Doctor :   it should be fine in 5 days to a weeks time.
User :   ok
Doctor :   If its a bacterial infection, it can last as long as the infection persists,
Doctor :   With adequate antibiotics it should be fine in 2 -3 days time.
User :   ok
Doctor :   Hence follow the advice as suggested by your doctor with regards to antibiotics and continue with the fluid supplements.
User :   ok
Doctor :   As long as there is no signs of dehydration and no fever, you need not worry much.
Doctor :   It will slowly settle down.
Doctor :   Have you followed what I have suggested?
User :   yes
Doctor :   Do you have any other query?
User :   no thanks a lot
User :   :)
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting me. Bye for now.
User :   bye
