User :   hello! I just started getting a runny nose and watery eyes but that it! I am on aderall so i was wondering if there was anything that could help it? i have no headaches or any other pain just an annoying runny nose and very watery eyes, i cant stop sneezing and having to blow my nose! I'm 20 years old, women, about 130 pounds, about 5,5 ft and my runny nose only started about 3 hours ago. I am prescribed with adderall (usually take 20 to 30 mg a day) and have regular pink eyes (got 5 pink eyes since beginning of october) and i'm on the birth control pill...and i smoke (between 5 cigs to a pack a day) is there any danger of me mixing anything up with any of those products?
Doctor :   Hi
User :   hi
Doctor :   let me read the query.
User :   ok
Doctor :   Since when are you having the nasal congestion and watering from the eyes?
User :   about 4 hours
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Do you have fever?
User :   and I have an exam this afternoon and cant afford being distracted having to blod my nose every 3 seconds!
User :   no fever and no pain just annyoing runny (clear and watery) nose and wanting to sneeze but cant sneeze (if that made any sense) plus my nose is tickling me and finally, just watery eyes, which normally goes with the cold
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Let me brief you.
Doctor :   Acute onset nasal congestion and watering of the eyes can occur due to allergic or infective causes.
Doctor :   Infection refers commonly to the viral infection.
Doctor :   Since you have exams coming up, I shall suggest you few measures that should help you for the time being.
User :   okay i do life in altitude
User :   *live in high altitude sorry
Doctor :   1. Use nasal drop(saline nasal drops or nasal decongestant).
Doctor :   They help in reducing the congestion almost instantly.
User :   but i can breath perfectly well out of my nose that's what so weird!
Doctor :   2. You can use tylenol cold and sinus which contain antihistaminics.
Doctor :   3. Steam inhalation along with this.
Doctor :   These measures can help you relieve the symptoms,
Doctor :   In the mean time, you will have to watch out for symptoms such as fever, headache, sorethroat.
Doctor :   In such cases you will need antibiotics.
User :   okay is zycam good? I have ibuprofen something called "allergy releif zone 6" - they're like drops tat do not taste good - aspegic, Vitamin C and B and that's it!
Doctor :   Adderall and birth control pill can be used together.
User :   okay sweet I always wondered if they were dangerous to take with anyother meds
Doctor :   Allergy relief zone 6 are homeopathic preparations containing plant extracts.
User :   so hot shower, zycam, how about eye drop? I'm so worried i'm going to get a pink eye!
User :   is that zone 6 nedicin then useless?
Doctor :   Since my knowledge is restricted in homeopathic, I cannot provide you with further details about that.
Doctor :   However, the action is similar to that of antihistaminics.
User :   but do you think it would hurt if i took it?
User :   oh okay
Doctor :   Homeopathic preparations wouldn't interfere with your present medications.
User :   like zycam and aderall?
Doctor :   Antibiotic use may reduce the effects of birthcontrol pills, hence if you need the antibiotic
User :   ok
Doctor :   you will have to practise other safe sex measures to prevent pregnancy
User :   well tahnks for your help!! is ibuprofen good ?
Doctor :   while you are on antibiotics.
