Doctor :   hi
User :   Hi
Doctor :
how can i help you?
Doctor :
please proceed with your query
User :   I am loosing hair and my age is 25 years. I wanted to know if hair transplant is a good option
Doctor :
ok
Doctor :
are you having scalp related issues like dry scalp? danddruff?
User :   Its kind of hariditory. Except my brother...he is 32 and his hairs are perfect :(
Doctor :
how many strands of hair do you loose per day approximately?
Doctor :
ok
Doctor :
is the hairline receding?
User :   can you please guide me towords some information regarding hair transplant
Doctor :
or is there generalised thinning of hair?
User :   can you please elaborate on hairline receding?
Doctor :
i need to first find out what may be teh cause for your hairloss before guiding to what treatment will suit you
Doctor :
so for that i will need to ask you few questions
Doctor :
can i proceed?
User :   sure
Doctor :
or do you want information only on hair tranmsplant?
User :   but i am not familier with doctor terms...so request you to pls ask generally
User :   can you elaborate on hailine receding
Doctor :
receeding hairline means that the usual hairline that is at the junction of forehead and scalp..is it the same as before or has it gone back?
Doctor :
are you there?
User :   yes
Doctor :
have you understood the question?
User :   yes i am replying
Doctor :
or do shall i simplify it more for you?
Doctor :
ok
User :   the centre of my hairline is good but the right side has gone far back and left side has gone little back
Doctor :
ok
Doctor :
so that is called as 'male pattern baldness' that you are having
Doctor :
which differs from female pattern
User :   ok...
User :   ok
Doctor :
in which there is generalised thining of hair from entire scalp
Doctor :
the cause for this is usually genetic
User :   yeah
Doctor :
as you mentioned taht it is present in your family
Doctor :
so my next question is about the other hairgrowth in you
Doctor :
could you please provide your gender, occupation, height and current weight?
User :   M, Service, 5'10.5'', 81
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :
so is the beard, moustache, axillary and pubic hair development fine?
User :   absolutly :)
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :
so the only problem is the hairloss
User :   yes
Doctor :
have you done any hormonal tests?
User :   no..can you please ellaborate on hormonal pls?
Doctor :
let me explain..the genetic cause for this hairloss pattern in you causes the hair follicles not to respond to the hormones
Doctor :
the testosterone in body converted to DHT (dihydrotestosterone) is responsible for such symptoms
Doctor :
what happens is the hair follicles do not respond to this leading to hairloss in such pattern
Doctor :
so a measurement of these few hormones will help us to know what is teh cause in your case
User :   that makes sense to me
Doctor :
these tests include
Doctor :
DHT levels, 5-alpha hydroxylase, testosterone levels and DHEA levels
User :   ok
Doctor :
so a analysis of these along with a trichoanalysis of your scalp with tell us
Doctor :
whether the problem can be treated with medications and hair transplant or not
User :   and how does trichoanalysis of scalp happen?
Doctor :
have you followed what i have said?
User :   yes
Doctor :
trichoanalysis of scalp will tell you
Doctor :
what kind of hair follicles are there
Doctor :
and also a hair growth pattern
Doctor :
so see whether re-growth is possible or not
User :   are there tests for trichoanalysis of scalp also?
Doctor :   and whether the follicles are actively multiplying
Doctor :
i meant about the scalp only when i mentioned about teh tricoanalysis
Doctor :
Is there any thing else I can help you with?
User :   that means trichoanalysis of scalp is included in the test mentioned by u?
Doctor :   yes it is
Doctor :
do you want me to summarise the tests to be done by you?
Doctor :
Trichoanalysis
User :   that woulg be really great
Doctor :   DHT levels, 5-alpha hydroxylase, testosterone levels and DHEA levels

User :   which test includes trichoanalysis ?
Doctor :
you can do a CBC (complete blood count) also to look for any nutritional defieciency in your case
Doctor :
trichoanalysis is a different test
Doctor :
the other tests are blood test to see teh hormone levels
User :   ok got it
Doctor :
have you followed what i have said? please get back to me in case of having doubts
User :   you were great doc...i am ready to do the tests
Doctor :
ok
User :   how can i get in touch after that
