User :   I had a really bad abscess in my mouth for about three weeks. My dentist couldn't drain it because it was so hard, so he put me on Clyndamycin 160mg. About a week later my abscess finally popped in my mouth, but ever since then i guess it's been the last week and a half i've had this extremely strange lump inside my navel that hurts SO bad when i touch it. I went to the hospital, they did blood work the Doctor barely took a look at me and discharged me, because he felt there was nothing wrong. Well now all of a sudden the pain has went from my navel to all along my left side and up to my lower ribs. I have no idea if it is because of the abscess but i have no where else to turn, noone believes i'm actually in the pain that i'm in, could this all be from the abscess? The clyndemycin i'm on now is 300 mg, but it's not helping and i'm almost done the entire bottle.

Doctor :   hi
Doctor :   Dr. XXXXXXXX here. Let me read what you have typed.
User :   Okay.
Doctor :   what other symptoms are you having at present?
User :   I can't even stand up straight without severe pain, it doubles me over. Im having sharp pains in my left side, and under my left rib.
Doctor :   could you describe the "lump inside the naval" in detail?
User :   It's a hard lump, it doesnt really move at all.. it's probably the size of a quarter.
Doctor :   if during the examination lump was felt in your naval area, it should be followed up with an ultrasound abdomen
Doctor :   to see from where it is arising and what it is due to
User :   they wouldn't do an ultrasound, only a cat scam.
User :   scan*
Doctor :   ok, then discuss with your doctor, and go ahead with a CT scan to see what exactly is causing you the problem
Doctor :   do you have the blood work up report?
Doctor :   what tests were done in that?
User :   Just a regular blood work test.
User :   uhm, it just showed that my pataciem was low.
Doctor :   did they check the liver function tests?
User :   No.
Doctor :   and kidney function tests like blood urea nitrogen, serum creatinine, etc?
User :   I don't think they checked into all of that, they weren't too clear on what they were doing, i was able to talk to the doctor for a total of 3 minutes the whole 4 hours i was there.
User :   I'm not sure if this is also a part of it, i keep getting extremely dizzy to the point of where i feel like i'm going to pass out, i've also had frequent diarrhea for the last week.
Doctor :   the dizziness and the feeling of getting passed out, may be due to electrolyte loss due to diarrhea
Doctor :   is it still continuing?
User :   Yes, i even tried to take imodium.
User :   The nurse told me just to eat banana's.
Doctor :   is there foul smell, blood or mucus coming along with the loose stools?
User :   It's a horrid foul smell.
User :   But no blood, there is strange white stuff, is that mucus?
Doctor :   banana's will replace the potassium back to some extent
Doctor :   yes, the white stuff could be mucus
Doctor :   i would recommend you to get a stool routine test done
Doctor :   to see if any infection is still present
Doctor :   if the infection is there, you will require treatment with antimicrobials
Doctor :   and if the infection is ruled out, then the possibility of colitis/inflammatory bowel disease should be looked into
Doctor :   as these also cause mucus to come in stool.
Doctor :   do you have belching, burping, flatulence associated?
