User :   I have a lump in my cheek, about an inch below the lower lip. I went to a Dentist Saturday and he checked my mouth and said I do not have any tissue problems. I am wondering what would cause a lump to be present and he missed it. Like most I am very concerned about oral cancer.
Doctor :   Hi,
User :   good day
Doctor :   Thanks you
Doctor :   may i know that whether the lump is inside the mouth ?
User :   The lump is in the cheek tissue and can be felt in the mouth but does not aooear in mouth. I feel it mostly with my tongue
User :   appear in mouth
Doctor :   is it painful ?
User :   No appears to change in size from time to time...
Doctor :   ok, since when did you had the lesion ?
User :   About 3 weeks ago.....I have felt such lesions in the past. I wear dentures and wonder if they would be contributing to the lump
Doctor :   yes, they could be the reason ,
Doctor :   is the swelling soft or firm ?
User :   It feels firm and is irregular
Doctor :   ok, does it disappear completely , as you said it reduce in size occasionally ?
User :   It seem to go away and I forget about it, Then when it comes back, usually after eating I feel it again.
Doctor :   it could be a salivary gland swelling , which commonly presents that way
Doctor :   but if the swelling is growing then its better to get a biopsy done
User :   I have a MD appointment in May....Would that be OK to wait til then for further review
Doctor :   yes, but only if the swelling is not increasing in size
User :   OK

User :   I am set Thanks
Doctor :   you are welcome
Doctor :   thanks for consulting me , kindly provide your feedback
User :   Farewell. Thanks
