User :   I am experiencing sublte gas pains in my lower abdomen and my period should be due in about 5 days. I read that this may be a sign of pregnancy, and the reason for my concern is a recent experience I had on the 18th of this month. I was in a hot tub with a male. We did not have intercourse, but we both were naked. He only fingered me, so I thought everything was fine. I am now concerned that I may have somehow gotten pregnant by semen or sperm in the water or by his penis brushing up against my body. Can you help?
Doctor :   Hi
User :   Hi
Doctor :   Pls. give me few secs. to go through your query.
User :   ok
Doctor :   Ok.
Doctor :   I have gone through your query.
Doctor :   First, May I ask you a few questions pertaining to your problem ?
User :   Sure
Doctor :   May I know your last menstrual period ?
Doctor :   when was it ?
User :   The first day of my last period was on March 1st
Doctor :   Ok.
Doctor :   Please do not get anxious , it is almost impossible or next to impossible to get pregnant by not having penetrative sex , and by just sitting in a bath tub.
Doctor :   Very rare.
Doctor :   Your symptoms can be just of the period ahead and nothing else ,
Doctor :   And if you still want to double confirm, you can do a home pregnancy test which is a Urine Preg. Test.
User :   The only thing that scares me is I had an unexpected pregnancy once and I thought I remembered my body feeling this way. The odd discomfort of the gas, noticing the breast swelling. I wasn't sure if I was just paranoid and that's why I think it was the same. But that is what I was wondering, if that is even possible. I mean as far as I am aware, he never ejaculated in the water to my knowledge and there was not any form of "grinding" for lack of a better word.
Doctor :   1.Urine Preg. test on 11 days from date of fertlisation - last probable date
Doctor :   2.A secong urine preg. test again on 13 days from the probabale date of fertlisation.
Doctor :   This would make things easier .
Doctor :   Do not worry,
User :   when you say date of fertilization what are you referring to? Would it be to soon to take a urine test tomorrow if my period is due the 28th or 29th?
Doctor :   There is nothing to panic, it cannot be a pregnanacy.
Doctor :   May I know the date of last time you had a bath or got intimate ?
User :   I do not take baths I always shower and I have not been intimate since that night
Doctor :   Could you please let me know that exact date to calculate ?
User :   The night I was intimate was the 18th of this month
User :   (referring to the fingering in the hot tub)
Doctor :   the min. date of test should be 29th of march or 30 th of march.
User :   Ok. Does the chlorine and/or temperature of the water have anything to do with the reason for why I could not be pregnant or is that just a myth?
Doctor :   Uusally the water if it is hot than 40 degree celsius , does not sustain the life for spermatozoa
User :   And 40 degrees is pretty cold if I'm correct?
Doctor :   'Uusally the water if it is hot than 40 degree celsius , does not sustain the life for spermatozoa '
I have mentioned celsius , to convert to farehnheit it would be 110 degrees .
User :   Oh, I see. So the water must be pretty hot. Im not sure what the temperature was. Im just trying to gain an understanding. However, you feel that pregnancy could not have occured nonetheless
Doctor :   Yes
User :   Ok, I will wait until the 28th or 29th to see if I get my period, and if not try the test. Thank you
Doctor :   Thank you for consulting me
Doctor :   take care
User :   You're welcome. Take care
Doctor :   Bye for now
