Doctor :   Yes, I can

User :   Can you suggest a good gynecologist for treating thyroid related issues?
Doctor :   Ok

Doctor :
But why Gynecologist for thyroid issue?
Doctor :
Bcos an Endocrinologist is better
Doctor :
If there are associated gynec issues, then fine
User :   The doctor at Baptisy hospital says the hormone count needs to be between 0.5 and 2.5 to get pregnant.
Doctor :   Ok

Doctor :
Where do you stay?
User :   My wife got treated there for a few monbut I'm not satisfied. I need to see a specialist
Doctor :   Ok

User :   Hebbal
Doctor :   Fine, how about Columbia Asia?
Doctor :
There are a good panel of doctors there
Doctor :
and if required they will have interconsultation
Doctor :
b/w different specialities
User :   Fine, as long as the doctor is good and I can stick with her - as opposed to seeing a new dotor everytime we go.
Doctor :
Ok
Doctor :
Now what is your wife's height and weight?
User :   5.5 inches tall and 75 kgs
Doctor :
What are the issues with low thyroid at present?

User :   and periods are sometimes not on time
Doctor :
Yes it happens
Doctor :
Has she undergone ultrasound abdomen before?
User :   she is taking 50 mg thyroxine from the last 8 months, no change
Doctor :
Ok
Doctor :
Has she got the blood test done after that?
Doctor :
Have the thyroid levels changed?
Doctor :
after initiation of treatment
User :   yes, she underwent at Baptist during the receommended days and they suggested that the size needs to be above 19 mm. Her was almost the same size but no change
User :   blood test was done and her level was between 4-5
Doctor :   Ok

Doctor :
Is there improvment when compared to the previous readings?
User :   she started with 21, so 4-5 is a definite improvement. She also took "Shlomid" tablets on the doctor's recommendation. But, we don't see any progress
User :   Chlomid tablets
Doctor :   Ok

Doctor :
I am happy that she is responding
Doctor :
How do you say that there is not progress, still?
User :   By progress, I meant conception.
Doctor :
Ok
User :   It's been an year now.
Doctor :
That cannot be the only criteria
Doctor :
to assess the progress
Doctor :
Because once the thyroid is regulated
Doctor :
reproductive organs also need time to respond
Doctor :
and it takes time
Doctor :
I would suggest her to get ovulation tests done first
Doctor :
Also keep check on blood sugars, serum cholesterol
Doctor :
ofcourse with Thyroid monitoring
Doctor :   Talk to the gynec in your next visit regarding ovulation tests

User :   Okay. So I'm looking at a specialist doctor who can evaluate her holistically and look at other options and help her conceive. If that means I need a sperm test, that's fine with me.
Doctor :   Sure

Doctor :
I will let you know that
Doctor :
Give me minute
User :   I feel we are seeing a "general" doctor at Baptist and hence going through the same thyroid - chlomid circle again and again without progress
Doctor :
Ok
