Doctor :   Hello
Doctor :   i am
Doctor :   How may i help you ?
User :   hello doctor my name im a 23 year old male
Doctor :   Nice to meet
User :   i recently was suffering from dizzy spells and brought myself to the emergency room two days ago the doctor checked my ears and said i had alot of fluid and said i have Labyrinthitis
User :   i was given Augmentin for 10 days and Meclezine pills
Doctor :   OK
Doctor :   ok
User :   but what i've been noticing is that I'm fine early in morning till right when i eat i start getting dizzy couple minutes after breakfast i get dizzy. why is that?
Doctor :   Are you taking the dose properly and on time ?
Doctor :   Ok let me explain you why is this happening to you
Doctor :   How many days now are you on the medications ?
User :   yes of course augmentin is twice a day so i take it at 10am and 10pm and meclizine i take when needed
User :   well so far ive taken 4 pills of augmentin
Doctor :   OK thats good
Doctor :   now let me tell you that as you take the medications there are fe other things that you also need to do
User :   ok
Doctor :   to begin with yes the medications you are taking are correct and its the right dosage and yes its very important you take the complete course
Doctor :   now along with the medications you need to follow the things i will be telling you
Doctor :   1) Try to remain still and rest
Doctor :   2) Keeping your head still and resting in bed is usually effective in alleviating the dizziness

Doctor :   3) Avoid bright lights and suddenly changing your position

Doctor :   4) Perform simple head movements and work on keeping your balance while sitting or standing can help to improve your balance.

Doctor :   are you aware of the Brandt-Daroff exercises?
User :   yea the emergency doctor told me this but im curious as to what the correlation is between these dizzy spells and me eating
Doctor :   Its not the eating pattern as if it was then you would be feeling dizzy not when you eat your breakfast BUT anytime you eat
Doctor :   most of the time the human body just as a reflex moves the head
Doctor :   and in case of labryinthitis it aggravates the condition
Doctor :   so you have to make a CONSCIOUS effort
Doctor :   the medications you are on are the GOLD STANDARD treatment . so thats great
Doctor :   and yes it does takes time
User :   for instance two days ago i went to school in the morning and what not from 8am- 11 am then came home as soon as i ate breakfast started washing dishes and dizziness started
Doctor :   it all depends on the severity of the infection
Doctor :   more over its been just 4 days
Doctor :   you will see the changes soon
Doctor :   i want to stress the importance of REST
Doctor :   thats the key here
Doctor :   Adequate rest is very important in promoting recovery from this condition as movements and activity are known to aggravate the symptoms.
Doctor :   The disruptions in balance may continue for several days. so dont worry
Doctor :   you need to be patience
User :   yea i was told alot of rest but the whole eating part bothers me
Doctor :   well i assure you there is nothing to worry about
Doctor :   its common for patient to experince dizziness in relation to certain activities
Doctor :   the key is you dont want to get hurt
User :   i noticed mostly im dizzy when standing up when im sitting down im barely affected
Doctor :   yes its true as you need the maximum balance when standing
Doctor :   you just need to give it time
Doctor :   i hope you followed what i am telling you

User :   yeah im listening it's just that whole dizziness after eating worries me that i could have some other issue
Doctor :   N o not at all
User :   also right before these dizzy spells my neck right by my throat started aching a bit
Doctor :   i see
Doctor :   well you need to take the complete course and i assure you all these symptoms will go away
User :   let me ask u a question could a simple look into the ear be a proper diagnosis for labyrinthitis
Doctor :   yes you can
Doctor :   the doctor will take your history
Doctor :   so its ok
User :   i had two prior surgeries in both ears
User :   they placed tubes int there twice
Doctor :   AND only if a serious case is considered then only you will be asked to get a CT AND MRI
Doctor :   A doctor usually can tell by a physical examination whether more serious conditions exist
Doctor :   or not
Doctor :   you went to a ENT physician right ?
User :   yes a long long time ago
User :   like 13 years ago is when i had procedure done
Doctor :   what about the medications now ?
Doctor :   were they not prescribed by a ENT doc ?
User :   it was at emergency room
Doctor :   oK
