User :   Please help me with this....I have a 16 year old daughter who recently confided in me that she had been sexually violated by her boyfriend! She had confided in me that they did not have intercourse, but he forcefully, well fondled her in her virgina. This act has been tomenrting her for so long and her greatest fear (other than her dad wanting to kill this guy) is that she asked me if she now had lost her 'purity' (her virginity) because of what she allowed to happen? I didn't know how to answer her question, cause I don't know myself! Can you please give me some guidelines on how to answer my daughter's question truthfully, for I do not want to mislead into thinking that she is not a virgin any longer...when I don't know myself!
User :   is anyone there??
Doctor :   hello
Doctor :   i am Dr XXX here
User :   Hello...
Doctor :   give me a min please
Doctor :   let me read your query
User :   Hello Dr. XXXXX
Doctor :   i can understand what must be going thru your mind at this moment and you are right you should be truthful to your daughter
Doctor :   as per your first question ... virginity is only lost when male penis enters the vagina and since that never happened so your daughter is still a virgin
User :   Oh...thank you so much for that. I wasn't really sure. Unfortunantly , my husband is under the impression that she no longer is, because in his is sex and she is no longer 'pure'
Doctor :   In the strictest term; one is a virgin until she has had sexual intercourse with the member of the opposite sex
Doctor :   yes so you can tell her and be honest and try to support her
Doctor :   she need all the love and support from the family to let this incidence go from her mind
