Doctor :   HI
User :   Hello i spoke with you recently
Doctor :   how can i help you ?
Doctor :   No
User :   i have results of my ct scan ... utrasound had reproted mass on kidney "hypodense" Ct scan saw nothing -- negative for mass!
User :   yes
User :   ultrasound reported a mass on kidney not seen on ct scan
Doctor :   so your kidney report of CT is normal
User :   yes nothing
Doctor :   that is fine
Doctor :   Do u have any symptoms or any other issues ?
User :   they did report diverticulosis of sigmoid why i am getting loose bowels??
Doctor :   are u taking any medications ?
User :   none
Doctor :   any fever, abdominal cramps ?
User :   no just some morning loose bowels, some feeling of burpnig and indigestion, tender anal arera
User :   area
Doctor :   how long have u had this issue ?
User :   off and on a couple of months
Doctor :   what do you mean by loose bowels ?
Doctor :   Do u mean diarrhea (watery) ?
User :   diahrea once or twice in morning and the one or two bowel movements afternoon
User :   loose not watery
Doctor :   this is due to the diverticulosis
Doctor :   u see, the colon has a function to remove all the water from the feces and then dispose them
Doctor :   but when diverticulossis is there, the colon function reduces , and it is not able to remove all the water in the stools , resulting in loose stools , multiple bowel movements, etc
User :   yes i see
User :   my anal area is very sore after weeks of this
Doctor :   that is ok, nothing to worry about
User :   what can i take for this to quiet it down or reduce it?
Doctor :   You can apply a hydrocortisone cream there
Doctor :   this will reduce the redness or irritation
User :   should i take aspirin or tylenol?
Doctor :   aspirin will be fine
User :   it feels inflamed the lower bowel
Doctor :   but applying the cream , will help much better
Doctor :   i understand that
User :   ct also reports osteophyte formation in sacroiliac joints and lumbosacral facet arthropathy in lower back these are very close toether could one problem be affecting the other??
User :   together can this spread and affect other areas?
Doctor :   both are features of the same condition , that is osteoarthritis of the spine
Doctor :   this is not going to spread like a infection
User :   its in the lower back near the anal area any connection??
Doctor :   no , both are independent of each other
User :   ok final finding is enlarged prostate ( i am 57)
Doctor :   the CT changes are due to years of long standing bone friction, (which is osteoarthritis )
User :   ok should i exercize or rest this year?
Doctor :   enlarged prostrate is seen in upto 70% of men at the age of 50
Doctor :   and as the age increases this percentage increases
Doctor :   unless this enlargement causes issues like urinary problems, you need not worry about it
Doctor :   performing a annual PSA test, would give an idea about the severity of enlargement as well as the risk for prostrate cancer
User :   ok finally the b lood test hemoglobin 17.9 s MPV 11.4 Basophils 1.1 only three repoeted as above nornal -- caused by the colon problem?
Doctor :   about exercise, you can do some brisk walking as and when u can
User :   above nornal?
User :   normal
Doctor :   and all of the above blood tests are considered not that high
Doctor :   they are just above the base line levels
User :   i see its just barely on the high side so no big deal?
Doctor :   and it is nothing to worry about
User :   ok so would you suggest i not play golf or tennis because of this?
Doctor :   no , you can continue to play
User :   what is better heat or ice for this?
Doctor :   there is no reason to stop playing, for any of the above reasons , as long as u are comfortable playing it
User :   i do get somewhat stiff
Doctor :   you can apply some heat pads
Doctor :   that will loosen the muscles that are stiffened
User :   so then it seems all of this is age related
Doctor :   yes
User :   i still want to be active i am also overweight perhaps weight loss good idea?
Doctor :   yes , in case you are overweight, losing a few pounds will be good for overall health improvement
User :   one other thing it mentions central calcification of the prostate what is that?
Doctor :   as the prostrate enlarges, the centre of the gland is compressed
Doctor :   and this compression, results in deposition of solidification of the cells due to deposition of minerals like calcium
User :   ok do you think i need something like a prostate shrinking drug?
Doctor :   no
Doctor :   u dont need any , as long as u are not having any symptoms of urinary obstruction
User :   ok
Doctor :   in case you have them, medications to reduce prostrate size can be initiated
User :   ok
User :   i am surpised the dltrasound reported a mass when the ct found nothing surprising?
Doctor :   You should be happy about it
User :   yes i am must have been a mistake
Doctor :   the CT describes anatomy more clearly than the ultrasound
User :   sure
User :   well then i am more clear now
Doctor :   good
User :   any medication for the diverticulosis?
Doctor :   no
User :   ok good
User :   not bad i guess
Doctor :   there are no medications to reduce the size of the diverticuli
User :   ok
Doctor :   unless they cause any symptoms , or infections occur , there is no need to worry about them
Doctor :   but keep in mind to eat a soft diet most of the time
User :   do you think my morning nausea is caused by that?
User :   i get it after the bowel movement
Doctor :   yes, that could be related
User :   maybe its a bit severe?
Doctor :   in case you have severe trouble, take prilosec 20 mg twice daily
User :   right
Doctor :   OR motinorm tablets
User :   whats motinorm?
Doctor :   this will improve the gastric motility
Doctor :   and reduce the nausea
User :   where is that available?
Doctor :   motinorm is domperidone ( a medication that improves gastric motility )
User :   ok is it otc in US?
Doctor :   it is available at local pharmacies
Doctor :   yes it is
User :   good i will look for it
User :   well thanks for your input no big deal here
Doctor :   yes, you have no reason to worry
Doctor :   thanks for consulting me here
User :   thanks again the service is very good
Doctor :   you are most welcome
