User :   I am a 38-year-old female, troubled by groin pain for the last two months
Doctor :   Hi
User :   Hi there, may I ask your name?
Doctor :   I am Dr,,,
Doctor :   Can you describe a little more about the pain.
Doctor :   Where exactly is the pain located?
Doctor :   * I mean the whole of the groin or a particular point?
User :   Yes, it began in the right groin about two months ago and is getting worse. I had my annual well-woman checkup at the gynecologist who could not feel any lumps or anything, and an ultrasound shows my ovaries are fine - but I do have a history of Ovarian Cysts and also kidney stones
User :   The pain is worse when I roll over, push the gas pedal, go from sitting to standing. But it is there all the time. Sometimes it aches, sometimes it throbs, sometimes it burns
Doctor :   Ok
User :   Specifically right side, right in that crease
Doctor :   Are you able to walk properly?
Doctor :   Are you there?
User :   Hi
Doctor :   Do you have pain in the abdomen too?
User :   Yes I can walk properly, although I feel a little like an old lady!
User :   No, no pain in the abdomen at all. It's very localized to that crease between the top of my leg and the pubic area. I can point right to where it hurts.
Doctor :   Ok
User :   Just for added detail, I am not overweight and am active/otherwise healthy
Doctor :   May I know your occupation, your height and weight?
User :   yes sir, I am a journalist. Which means I sit around at my desk and type all day long. I work out twice a week (cardio and weights) and have been for three years. I am 5'3" and 115 pounds.
Doctor :   Have your periods been normal?
Doctor :   Do you notice any weakness of the thigh muscles?
User :   Ah well, I had a hysterectomy three years ago. But I still have my ovaries. Hysterectomy due to prolapse. I have had two children, vaginal deliveries.
Doctor :   Do you find any sensory disturbances in your limbs?
User :   No, I do not notice any weakness. I can still do my workouts and both legs seem similar in strength. Although the pain is getting worse - it's a constant ache now with sharp burning stabs, and I don't feel much like working out
User :   No, no sensory disturbances at all
Doctor :   Ok.
Doctor :   Let me explain it to you.
Doctor :   Since the gynecological examinations have been normal, your history are pointing toward a local problem.
Doctor :   It may be involving the muscles of the thigh or the hip joint.
User :   I am worried my doctor will brush me off
User :   could it be kidney related?
Doctor :   To complete the evaluation, you may have to consult an orthopedician for examination and if required an X ray.
User :   if that's what it is, will it get better with time?
Doctor :   There can be contribution from other factors such as psychological factors such as stress.
Doctor :   It may not be a kidney related problem.
User :   Stress. No, I really doubt it.
Doctor :   Since you do not have any problem moving the hip joint and you do not have associated neurological symptoms, it can be easily controlled.
Doctor :   In the mean time while you wait to see your doctor, I shall suggest you a few measures that can help you.
User :   I had a hemmorhagic cyst on my right ovary a few months ago. My GYN put me on a birth control pill for one month, which dissolved the cyst. That's when the groin pain started. But the cyst is gone.
Doctor :   A gynecological condition such as ovarian cyst and renal conditions can atypically cause similar symptoms.
