User :   hi, i have had a liver function test - protein, albumin and bilirubin are all in normal ranges. AST is 52 and ALT is 91. i drink alcohol regularly. i am quitting the alcohol immediately. there is a product on line that combines XXXXXXXX cleansing with a liver cleanse. can i do this first and re-check in 30 days or should i go to the GI specialist immediately? how bad are my alt and ast #'s? slightly over or significantly over? thanks,
Doctor :   Hi,
Doctor :   the values are not serious
Doctor :   need not worry
Doctor :   if you quit alcohol , the readings can come down to normal within a month or two
User :   im 48 years old and in decent health. about a year ago something changed in my body and for the first time in my life i could not lose weight with diet and exercise. could this elevated liver count be the reason?
Doctor :   no,
Doctor :   May be the diet and the exercise are not sufficient enough
User :   many of the symptoms of liver disease it seems i am experiencing are listed for liver disease. low energy, bloated stomach. also, what are your thoughts on the XXXXXXXX cleanse, liver cleanse?
Doctor :   the results of these cleanse are still debatable
