User :   I had done my lipid profile test recently and though my total cholestrol was less than 200 but my HDLC came as 34. Total cholestrol/ LDL ratio was 5.88. Wanted to check if this is normal

Doctor :   and did you mean total /HDL?
User :   They were done for insurance purpose
Doctor :   As we do not take total/LDL
User :   Yes, I mean total/ HDL

Doctor :   it is in borderline risk
Doctor :   but not anything alarming
Doctor :   it is desired to be kept below 5
User :   Ok in any case, I am sure HDL was 34, total was 200, triglycerides were 161

User :   I had done uric acid and creatinine test (those were normal). Also did apolipoprotien test and the result was normal with both count showing as 125
User :   I mean A1 and B apolipopriten both were 125

User :   Not recently done but those were done 6 mths back (again for insurance purpose) and the results were normal

Doctor :   may i know if you smoke or consume alcohol ?
User :   Neither smore nor drink

Doctor :   how is your diet >
Doctor :   do you consume non veg, oily food, junk , fried food ?
User :   Vegeterian. Dont think oil/ junk food intake is excessive but yes have it some times

Doctor :   i would suggest you follow these measures
Doctor :   1. concentrate on diet
Doctor :   avoid oily food , fat food , and deep fries
Doctor :   2. include lot of green vegetables , fibre and fruits on daily diet
Doctor :   3. also daily physical activity is compulsory
Doctor :   excercise is very important
Doctor :   these will help a lot
Doctor :   apart from this get an examiantion form a general physician
Doctor :   so that if needed medicines can be started
Doctor :   a repeat test has to be done after 3 months
User :   what would you mean as fat food. Also regarding exercise any minimum time that i should work out. Do you think medication is required at this stage
Doctor :   i can judge the need for medication after examining you
Doctor :   at this point it may not be , but later it can be added
User :   Ok thanks but as i understand overall nothing alarming at this stage but requires close attention
