User :   Actually My Son is in hospital for past 1.5 Months with a Traumatic Brain Injury

User :   He had a brain surgery and after that he was put on rest.
User :   From day one there were
User :   CSF leaks from his dura mater tissues
User :   and that fluid use to form a Lump on the head which was almost 1 inch huge

User :   after around 10 days Doctor applied Lumbar Drain and complete bed rest for the kid
Doctor :   Was it drained?
User :   his right side of the body is not functioning fully
Doctor :   Ok
User :   yes Lump was drained but after 24 hrs it again started filling but with a very less pressure almost 1/10
Doctor :   Ok is there any improvement in movements over a period of time
User :   doctors applied a tight bandage on his head
User :   so now lump size is zero and he is out of ICU
User :   yes now he is able to move his leg and close his wrist
User :   he is not paralytic but only hand and leg are weak

User :   one thing I want to know is are CSF leaks healed
User :   or are they in a process of healing
Doctor :   I think even that should improve over a period of time
Doctor :   I do think that CSF leak is completely stopped now.
Doctor :   And it is in a stage of healing.
User :   how long it takes to heal such heals
User :   also are there any medicines which can absorb the water outside the dura mater to absorb by itself
Doctor :   There are medicines which will decrease intracranial pressure and there by reducing CSF leak

User :   in the long run can csf leak occur again
User :   i mean if it heals completly now
Doctor :   The chances are very less.
Doctor :   Mild TBI does not usually have long term effects.
User :   ok
User :   what about the weakness and numbness on his right hand side
User :   will it go with time
Doctor :   Yes usually it does.
