User :   i am 3 days late on my period, i have taken a negative pregnancy result and now have brown discharge
Doctor :   hi
User :   hi
Doctor :   when was your last period due ?
User :   friday
Doctor :   Have they been regular before always ?
User :   yes
Doctor :   Is this the first day of the brown discharge ?
User :   yes
Doctor :   Can you mention the last time you were sexually active, so as to make sure wheter the chances of conception is there or not ?
User :   9 and 10th january
User :   and i had spotting on the 13th and 14th
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   based on the calculations, you were supposed to ovulate on 13-15th of jan
User :   which is when i had my spotting
Doctor :   since you had sex during the safe period of the cycle, the chances of pregnancy would be less
Doctor :   and that was confirmed on the negative pregnancy test done on the UPT
Doctor :   AND now that you have had your periods, it is confirmed you are not pregnant
User :   i havent had a period im 3 days late, but getting brown discharge, its not a period
Doctor :   YOU might need to wait a few days
Doctor :   this might turn to be your period
User :   and if it doesnt
Doctor :   Sometimes it is common to have women have altered color bleeding , or reduced bleeding when there periods are due
Doctor :   in case, it does not come, i would consider this brown discharge to be your period
User :   but there is next to nothing there its only slight, i usually have heavy periods and regular to the day
Doctor :   If you repeat your pregnancy test, it will turn out to be negative
Doctor :   In that case, just wait and watch, you will have your regular period
Doctor :   there is no need to be worried
Doctor :   YOU will be fine
User :   like i said i could understand if it had happened before but it hasnt im always regular as clockwork and always have heavy periods so this is not normal
Doctor :   Sometimes, stress , or hormonal changes can cause such kind of changes
Doctor :   changes in the sex hormones like FSH, LH can cause such changes
User :   and that is.....
Doctor :   it means changes in periods, like reduced flow, change in flow patterns etc
User :   but im only 24 should things like this be happening at my age
Doctor :   yes , these kind of things are normal and are seen in many women
Doctor :   the human body does not stay the same, it changes and so does its functions
Doctor :   I assure you that you will be just fine and you will have your periods within a few days
User :   so with things like being tired all the time, urinating alot more, mood swings/being anxious and aching/painful breasts. what could these mean?
Doctor :   havent you felt them before ?
User :   no
Doctor :   those could be due to hormonal changes, like elevated estrogen
