User :   My kid 1 year old, had light congestion for the past 1 week

Doctor :   Foul smelling mouth odour can occur due to oro nasal infection secondary to nasal congestion.

Doctor :   They can also occur due to gastric pathologies when there is no proper digestion of food.
Doctor :   Since there are no associated symptoms such as fever, vomiting, abdominal pain or loose stools(watery stools and frequent stools) and he is active,
Doctor :   I do not consider this as a major concern.

Doctor :   Let me suggest you few measures that should help

Doctor :   1. Continue with the measures for nasal congestion as suggested
User :   In fact he does not have nasal congetion, but occasially has cough that to not too long. He sleeps well in the night
Doctor :   2. Watch out for any food products that is leading to intolerances, food such as dhal, milk, egg and so on,
Doctor :   If you find if there are any products that are causing intolerance, you may have to avoid them
Doctor :   3. Deworming medications may be needed.

Doctor :   4. Watch out for few symptoms , that indicate presence of infections such as foul smelling nasal discharge, fever, abdominal pain, excessive crying, vomiting or frequent loose stools.

Doctor :   3. Abdominal problems such as food intolerance

Doctor :   Since, I am unable to visually examine your kid, I cannot predict, which of these are causing the reduced appetite.
