User :   I have been operated for Kidney Removal at an age of 6Yrs

User :   so what kind of test should I undergo
User :   and what kind of life style is good for a person with single Kidney?
Doctor :   May I know the reason why you had to go for kidney removal?
User :   At that time, I have got stones in my kidney and it has been damaged completely and my Doctor has to remove it

Doctor :   You can go for Renal function test.
User :   OK
Doctor :   This contains Sr. uric acid and sr creatinine.
User :   okk
Doctor :   There are confirmatory tests too but depending on the reports of these two tests if can go for further evaluation.
User :   oh.. okk cool.. then first of all I need to take the Renal Funciton Test
User :   and based on the results I might have to take further tests

Doctor :   All preservative food items has to be restricted but depending on the function test it has to be avoided.

Doctor :   Avoid high protein diet and instead you can go for high biological protein food items.
User :   can you please suggest some reliable Biological Protein Food items?
Doctor :   all animal proteins can be taken like eggs, meat, chicken and avoid high amount of cereals , pulses.
User :   so I can eat Eggs, Chicken, Fish etc.
Doctor :   Yes, these are considered to be high biological protein food items.
User :   but I am a Vegitarian
User :   and one more thing... I used to eat Chicken, Mutton and Fish
User :   and recently stopped eating them as they are of high protein...
Doctor :   Ok. then if possible you can go for it.
User :   and started eating Vegetarian food items like.... Tur dal, Channa dal items
User :   so in my case which food is better? Chicken, Fish or Tur dal, Channa dal?
Doctor :   These do have high protein but these are considered as biological proteins, so can be taken and as tur dal and channa has high proteins but are not biological proteins so has to be avoided.
Doctor :   The protein contain has to be taken according to your renal function tests.
Doctor :   IF the creatinine levels are high then the protein content has to be reduced.
User :   oh.. okk.. cool then I will have to first undertake the Renal Function test and based on that I need to change my diet
Doctor :   The normal protein required per day has to be .8 gms.
User :   ok
Doctor :   0.8 gms/day.
User :   about 3 months ago.. I took the Serum Creatinine test
Doctor :   So please get your renal function test done and then we can decide on the protein content required per day.

Doctor :   In very rare conditions like congenital abnormalities there are chance of having affected kidney along with testicular problems,
Doctor :   but as in your case its not due to congenital cause I dont feel there would be any problem in fathering a child.
