User :
i do have allergic rhinitis and irritable bowel symdrome
User :
ie allergy from dust and smoke
Doctor :
Ok, Does this happen with any one else in your family?
User :
no never.....
Doctor :
Ok after listening to you in detail about the itchy tongue I could think of following reasons
Doctor :
1) Allergic 2) contact dermatitis of tongue 3) A hidden infection of the oral cavity
Doctor :
Allery to certain foods can cause along with constant exposure to dust and smoke
Doctor :
The common foods that can cause such allergic reaction are
Doctor :
raw fruits and vegetables
Doctor :
kiwi, peaches, apricots, apples and nuts
User :
is that in any way related to irritable bowel syndrome
Doctor :   It could be too I am coming to that point
Doctor :
IBS might have a unknown relation to the foods that you eat
Doctor :
which are not suited for your body
Doctor :
Interestingly, these reactions most often happen only when the food is raw.
Doctor :   Cooking usually destroys the part of the food that causes the allergic reaction.
User :   but as i told you there is no time for that itching no specific causes what i had observed in last 1 year

Doctor :   The most common foods that cause these reactions include shellfish, peanuts, fish and eggs
Doctor :   Yes I noted that point

Doctor :
Most of the times the person tries to overlook such minor foods
Doctor :
that can cause these things
Doctor :
So now you have to maintain a diary
Doctor :
in which you should note down the foods that you have eaten before the itch
Doctor :
The time of the itch
Doctor :
and the duration of the itch
User :   oke , i had shown this to many doctors........ but all does not consider it very seriuos , one doctor said that my papillae is responsible for that

Doctor :
Sametime note down if you have gone out just before the itch
Doctor :
Let us see if the allergy to smoke and dust has caused the itch
Doctor :
Yes it is not serious
User :   what you say about papillae on side of tongue......
Doctor :
but since you are bothered about the itch I had to mention you the possible reasons
Doctor :
Papillae inflame when there is unhygienic condition in the oral cavity
Doctor :
I mentioned the reason of unnoticed infection
Doctor :
So you may need to see a Dentist for the same
User :
my papillae on the late side of tongue are look like threads....
User :
like struture
Doctor :   Ok
User :
is that normal
Doctor :
Get an Oral examination by a doctor
Doctor :
That is a good idea
Doctor :
Try to avoid the foods that I mentioned earlier
Doctor :
see if they bring any change atleast the frequency if itch has reduced or not
User :
can you please throw some light on papillae
User :   my papillae on the late side of my tongue look like threads structure.

User :
is they are normal......
Doctor :   Actually I have to examine them to say if they are normal or not
Doctor :
that too under light or microscope
User :   oke .just tell what kind of abnormailites are genrally there in pappillae

Doctor :
Examination should take place when you do not have itch and when you have that itch to note the difference
Doctor :
The papillae on the sides of the tongue are called Foliate papillae
Doctor :
There are different kinds though
Doctor :   Follate papillae are elongated

User :   yep , i m talking same only , they look like threads like struture

Doctor :   Yes but they are normally thread like
User :   just tell me one thing , where foliate papilae are suitated that place look like normal place of tongue or is something different
Doctor :
Wait let me search if I can find a good image of that region
User :
that will be really great for me
Doctor :

Doctor :   I think these are good pictures that yu can understand
Doctor :   Now you could notice that the place is something different than the normal tongue

User :
ya i had seen them according to image , the place where foliate paillae is siuated is different
Doctor :
Yes
User :   i was just worried whether this is cancer or not????

Doctor :
A very important question, Do you smoke?
User :
nope , very rare one in 6 months or so , but i used to chew pan masala
Doctor :
These are the major risk factors for cancer of tongue
Doctor :
Smoking and chewing tobacco
User :
yep that i know
Doctor :
If you had left it it is good
User :   its not totally stopped but nowe its very rare
