Doctor :   How can I help you?
User :   My daughter is 5 years old.For the past 2 weeks she has been having rashes on her face and body that come and go at regular intervals. She had been prescribed Zyrtec but to no avail. We even did a blood test and everything is fine. But they still keep coming?
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   can I ask few questions?
User :   sure
Doctor :   is there any family history of allergy?

User :   No,i have a sinus problem and my daughter has a small adenoid problem
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Can you elaborate more
Doctor :   on this
Doctor :   for a clear picture
User :   My daughter has difficulty in breathing thru the nose while sleeping and snores. So we consulted a homeo doc who said her adenoids in the throat r enlarged.
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   What s the frequency of the rashes
Doctor :   that come and go on her body and face
User :   They come and go at regular intervals. They look like ant-bites.They itch slightly and fade away in minutes
Doctor :   What is the humidity in the temperature where you live
Doctor :   sorry humidity and the temp
Doctor :   where you live
Doctor :   any idea?
User :   Right now the temp is around 30 deg C and quite dry.
User :   Also our flat is centrally airconditioned
Doctor :   Ok how many times this has happened the rashes
Doctor :   come and go
Doctor :   and they are so transient in nature that they disappear in minutes
User :   every day frequently for the last 15 days.Yes they disappear in 10-20 min
Doctor :   any cold/cough/headache/fever?
Doctor :   Please check if she has body pains
Doctor :   sorethroat, difficulty in swallowing
User :   she has got cold/flu from her brother starting from yesterday with runny nose.No body pain/sore throat
Doctor :   are the rashes itchy? pus filled/ fluid filled vesicles?
User :   they r slighty itchy,reddish,no-pus or fluid. They resemble ant-bites initially and then they just fade away
Doctor :   any medicines yet?
User :   Zyrtec was recommended by the paediatrician and we have been giving it to her for 15 days now
Doctor :   anything else?
User :   No
Doctor :   Did you observe any change you have made in her clothing, diet etc before the rash has appeared?
User :   Actually after the first week ,i was just researching on the net about rashes and came to know that soy milk may cause allergies and i had given her soy milk on 2 ocassions. But after that i have stopped it and her diet is regular as usual.
Doctor :   when did you give soy milk
Doctor :   before the development of rashes?
User :   a day or two before the rashes came and also a day after the rashes too
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Virtually there is nothing to worry about
Doctor :   but after asking these questions
Doctor :   I feel she is on safe
Doctor :   The reasons I could evaluate are
Doctor :   1) because of enlarged tonsils
Doctor :   2) Soy milk allergy
Doctor :   3) Sometimes Cetrizine itself can cause allergy
Doctor :   Since the rash is very transient
Doctor :   I still feel that temperature is influencing it
Doctor :   Now what to do?
Doctor :   1) Cut her nails
Doctor :   2) Apply Caladryl Lotion
Doctor :   to the areas
Doctor :   So that the itching reduces
Doctor :   and the areas cools down
Doctor :   hello are you there
User :   yes
Doctor :   Did you follow ?
User :   yes
Doctor :   It would be good if you can send a photograph
Doctor :   of the rashes
User :   will do
Doctor :   If the surgeon is asking for adenoidectomy
Doctor :   it is worth getting it done
Doctor :   if quite enlarged
Doctor :   and causing the problem
User :   but u think they r connected?
Doctor :   I am not sure about, but there are reasons
User :   how do i post the picture??
