Is it safe to get an IUD insterted? - Online Doctor Chats
Hi there, I am wondering about whether I should get a copper IUD inserted or not. I am 22, and I wish to conceive after 2-3 years...I want to know if the iud can harm the sexual organs. Also, I have had sex just 3 times, and so another one of my concerns is whether the iud insertion will make me less tighter than I am right now...even slightly less?
I hope you can help me regarding this matter
before I answer that question, may I know if you have any children
no I do not
in that case it is not advisable to go for an IUD
IUD is best suited for spacing
and is not routinely advised for people people who have not had any children
so u mean if there was more space and I had children before, only then I should have gotten an iud?
spacing means, spacing between children
then my next option is to go for a pill...basically I was going for an iud to prevent the side effects caused by the pill, such as acne and hair loss
You can go for the IUD if you prefer that
the only issues would be chances of infection
and reaction to the IUD
ad another one of my questions is regarding the birth control injection as well...which is called depo provera I believe?
Yes there are pills that do not cause acne
you can try the minipill
that is progestin only pill
is there anything else I can help you with?
what are the disadvantages of the birth controlshot?
and the patch
basically, you need to take the injection every three months
that is the only disadvantage
Disadvantage of the patch is.. it may not be as effective as the depo shot or the pills
is the shot more prone to cause acne or hair loss than the minipill?
the shot is more prone to cause acne
but not hairfall
Is there anything else I can do for you miss
thanks for your time. those are pretty much all the questions I needed answers for.
one last thing
If you feel comfortable going for the IUD, that is very good option
particularly because it is one time procedure
Thank you very much for consulting me
have a good day ahead
Bye, and take care
