User:Hi there, I am wondering about whether I should get a copper IUD inserted or not. I am 22, and I wish to conceive after 2-3 years...I want to know if the iud can harm the sexual organs. Also, I have had sex just 3 times, and so another one of my concerns is whether the iud insertion will make me less tighter than I am right now...even slightly less?
User:I hope you can help me regarding this matter
Doctor:before I answer that question, may I know if you have any children
User:no I do not
Doctor:in that case it is not advisable to go for an IUD
Doctor:IUD is best suited for spacing
User:oh okay
Doctor:and is not routinely advised for people people who have not had any children
User:so u mean if there was more space and I had children before, only then I should have gotten an iud?
User:oh okay
Doctor:spacing means, spacing between children
User:then my next option is to go for a pill...basically I was going for an iud to prevent the side effects caused by the pill, such as acne and hair loss
User:oh okay
Doctor:You can go for the IUD if you prefer that
Doctor:the only issues would be chances of infection
Doctor:and reaction to the IUD
User:is there a pill available that does not cause severe acne or hair loss?
User:ad another one of my questions is regarding the birth control injection as well...which is called depo provera I believe?
Doctor:Yes there are pills that do not cause acne
Doctor:you can try the minipill
Doctor:that is progestin only pill
User:oh okay
Doctor:is there anything else I can help you with?
User:what are the disadvantages of the birth controlshot?
User:and the patch
Doctor:basically, you need to take the injection every three months
Doctor:that is the only disadvantage
Doctor:Disadvantage of the patch is.. it may not be as effective as the depo shot or the pills
User:is the shot more prone to cause acne or hair loss than the minipill?
Doctor:the shot is more prone to cause acne
Doctor:but not hairfall
Doctor:Is there anything else I can do for you miss
User:thanks for your time. those are pretty much all the questions I needed answers for.
Doctor:one last thing
Doctor:If you feel comfortable going for the IUD, that is very good option
Doctor:particularly because it is one time procedure
Doctor:Thank you very much for consulting me
Doctor:have a good day ahead
Doctor:Bye, and take care
