I have been taking medication for IBS and now want to stop it.. need advice from a psychiatrist

User :   ok .. i have been taking nexipride 50 mg, Daxid 100 mg and pramipex 1 mg for the past 2 years

User :   i want to stop it.. But i am not able to .
Doctor :   May I know your age please ?

Doctor :   And since when you have been diagnose with IBS ?

Doctor :   May I know if you have used any other medication apart from this ?
User :   before this, I have consulted a lot gastroentrologist.. but none of their medicines worked. I tried homeopathy for sometime.. that did not give a complete remedy. Only these medicines are working for me.

Doctor :   Have you tried Naturo therapy , Yoga and Ayurveda ?
User :   no.
Doctor :   I would suggest you an alternative therapy apart from your cutting down of medication, it will help you in completely out of this problem.
User :   how to stop these medicines?
Doctor :   Do you still have bouts of constipation or diarrhoea or just a feeling psychologically at present stage ?
User :   my bowels has been regularised now. But if i reduce my medication i am getting hypertension

Doctor :   I would advsise you to go to meet Dr.Nagaratna at Arogyadhama.

User :   i'm kind of new in B'lore. may i know where is her clinic ?
Doctor :   She is the best in treating IBS .
Doctor :   It is a bit far, I would give her no. to you , please take an appointment fron her secreatery.

User :   ok. I stay at koramangla. is it far from there ?

User :   I am a christian.. and we generally don't believe in yoga..does yoga has to do with religion?
Doctor :   No nothing to do with religion, Even the Deoband have passed a fatwa stating that Yoga is not pertaining to religion.
Doctor :   And yo know that the whole west is following Yoga, its not religion.
Doctor :   Please dont worry about that.

User :   so .. i should be able to gradually stop my medication right ?

User :   ya one more.. does my diet has to change ?
Doctor :   Can you specify the diet that you are having right now ?
User :   i'm having everyting now.. Coz i am quite a foodie.
User :   non veg also
Doctor :   That is very essential to change your diet
Doctor :   1. No oily diet
Doctor :   2. No masals
Doctor :   3. Non-spicy diet
User :   ok
User :   fine.. i will change that ..
Doctor :   No to alcohol if you take
Doctor :   no smoking
Doctor :   lot of fruits, veggies
Doctor :   fresh juices
User :   ok .. I don't have those habits.. may drink once in 6 months that's it. that too only beer

and adopt to more bland diet, and honey and water in the morning.
