User :   hello, 24 yr old female. i have never been pregnant, yet i have very irregular periods ranging from 2 - 6 mos., i had been taking loestrin 24 for 2 yrs and stopped 3 mos ago. i have this very thin discharge that is always present. sometimes it is accompanied by itching and very light yellow clumps that look like wet tissie, also intervals of small brown discharge. i went to my primary care physician aned was tested for hiv, chlyamidia, gonneria and the herpes blood test..all came back negative. do you have any idea what could be causing this discharge with intermediate itching
User :   anything else i can suggest to my doc for testing
User :   also att times it has a slight fishy/ammonia odor after i shower

User :   its mostly clear and sometimes white in my underwear
User :   with the small clumps of light yellow
User :   it sometimes appears orange on my panty liner

User :   not really, because ive had yeast infections before and that looked curdy and milky, bu tthis almost look like small pieces of tissie wetted in light yellow water

Doctor :   ok, the symptoms you have are very typical to Trichomonas Vaginalis
User :   is that an std?
Doctor :   yes, it also can be acquired by touch
User :   ok, ill ask to be tested for that because i dont see that on my result paper

User :   is there anything else that could cause these symptoms?
Doctor :   its the Serological ( antigen ) tests you have to ask for
Doctor :   as i said the symptoms are very typical
Doctor :   of T. Vaginalis
User :   what is the name of the medicine that is usually prescribed for it?
User :   and what do you mean by 'TOUCH' as a means of acquisition
Doctor :   by contact with fomities ( daily usables) which are contaminated with the protozoan
Doctor :   Treatment will be with Metronidazole , also recently Parmomycin is also used in metronidazole resistant cases
