Doctor :   Since I have not examined you, I would not be able to tell the exact cause for irregular periods.
Doctor :   However, I shall provide you the information of the causes that can be causing it.
User :   at this point should i be consulting a gynac or a fertilty specialist

User :   no
Doctor :   I mean, you mentioned that you did not plan? Were you on any other family planing methods?
User :   my husband was taking precautions
Doctor :   Ok.
Doctor :   I shall give you the required information.
Doctor :   As I had mentioned irregular periods causes are broadly of two categories.
Doctor :   1. Were there is ovulation assoicated with it.
Doctor :   2. Were there is no ovulation.
Doctor :   Since your periods were regular in the past, it is probably the first category that may be responsible for the irregular periods.
Doctor :   A few conditions which come under this category are
Doctor :   systemic conditions such as anaemia, hypothyroidism.
Doctor :   gynaecological conditions such as Poly cystic ovarian disease, infection, fibroids, endometrosis and so on.
Doctor :   These are the commonest causes which come under this category.
Doctor :   Now to know which among them is causing, it can be determined only by evaluation.
Doctor :   Hence you would have to see a doctor for investigations.
Doctor :   These conditions are treatable.
Doctor :   So you need not worry.
Doctor :   I would suggest you to consult a gynaecologist,
Doctor :   A gynaecologist would be a better person to evaluate you.
User :   what kind of diagnosis would be needed to evaluate
Doctor :   However, since you also report problem of infertility, genetic counselling of both you and your husband, semen analysis of your husband would also be required.
Doctor :   Evaluation is for diagnosing the condition.
Doctor :   Evaluation includes physical examination and investigations.
User :   as i said ealrlier...i conceived in the month of u think there is an infertility issue here
Doctor :   Investigations that would be needed would be suggested by the doctor after the physical examination.
User :   since last one month i am having slight ..white vaginal discharge...does this mean anything
Doctor :   If the cause for abortion has been determined and those cause does not include that of infertily, then it is not infertility.
Doctor :   White discharge can be a normal condition or an abnormal condition too.
Doctor :   So I cannot comment if that was normal or part of the condition that you may be having.
User :   My Dr was not sure however..progestrone levels were too low
Doctor :   It would be best answered after the evaluation.
Doctor :   Ok
User :   and said try for another 6 months
Doctor :   You would need evaluation, if the gynaecologist feels necessary then the other test for infertility test too.\
User :   ok
Doctor :   I wish there would not be an infertility problem.
Doctor :   But only a gynaecologist would be able to confirm this.
User :   i am new to this place...can u suggest a dr
Doctor :   Have you followed what I have suggested?
Doctor :   May I know your location?
User :   yes
User :   bangalore
User :   do u suggest me to go the dr immediately or shud wait for my next periods..which wud be in abt a week
Doctor :   It is not an emergency.
Doctor :   WWW.WWWW.WW Doctor :   This is a link from our website.
Doctor :   It has the list of names of the gynaecologist available.
User :   i mean when be best time for the doc to evaluate..before or after periods
Doctor :   You can consult them at any time.
