Doctor :   Hi
User :   Hello Doctor.
User :   I am from Hyderabad.
User :   Could you tell me which place in Hyderabad can do a laparoscopic repair of inguinal hernia? I am 37, 64Kg, and would like to consult a doctor regarding this.
Doctor :   Laparoscopic repair is followed now by most of the surgeons in India and you can get it done from any of the multispeciality hospitals.
User :   (I was reading up on what it is...)
Doctor :   I will ask my customer care executive to give you a call after this live chat regarding hospitals and doctor practising Laproscopic surgery.
Doctor :   OK
Doctor :   May I know how did it started?
User :   I have this bulge for a while but only recently it started causing discomfort.
Doctor :   Any associated symptoms along with discomfort?
Doctor :   Are you there?
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Does the bulge reduce on lying down?
User :   I have not done anything specific. I used to have a slight pain in the groin (one of the sides) when ever I run (while in school/college) - later after 30 or so the bulge appeared
Doctor :   Ok
User :   on the right side.
Doctor :   May I know the size of the bulge approximately?
User :   yes it does,
Doctor :   OK
Doctor :   Is there any pain or change in color of the skin overlying the bulge?
User :   even while sitting, many times it is ok but once in a while it becomes uncomfortable and I have to push it in
Doctor :   Ok
User :   probly size of a TT ball
Doctor :   Do you smoke or consume alcohol?
Doctor :   Ok
User :   nope no change in color or anything. just slight discomfort (probably it is mild pain) when it stretches while upright
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Any history of chronic cough or any other diagnosed medical conditions?
User :   Not habitually.
Doctor :   OK
User :   I mean, smoke never, alcohol once in a few months
Doctor :   Ok
User :   no.
User :   i do keep getting a throat infection leading to some cough and sore throat about once an year when the season changes
Doctor :   For inguinal hernias the best treatment at present would be a Laparoscopic reduction in which you can return back to work within 3 days.
Doctor :   And low risks of complications compared to open hernial reduction.
Doctor :   Yes, but with modification of life style the recurrence rate would be low.
User :   I read recurrence rate might be higher than open - i am not sure if i should worry about it...
User :   got it.
Doctor :   I will ask my customer care executive to help you with the doctor practising laparoscopy and the list of hospitals after this live chat.
Doctor :   Are there any more queries for me to help you with?
User :   okay.
Doctor :   Please proceed.
User :   one question I had is that
User :   i havent had any kids yet - if I am planning to in the next 2-3 years, should I wait before I get this surgery? should I be concerned about it?
Doctor :   No, I feel this surgery wouldn't effect your fertility. In this surgery they would just reduce the sac and the hernial contents back into the body and create a tough wall so that to avoid recurrences.
Doctor :   After surgery you can go ahead with your plans.
Doctor :   Did you follow?
User :   Hmm Okay.
Doctor :   Are there any more queries for me to help you with?
User :   yes, understood.
User :   Thanks
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting me
Doctor :   Take care
Doctor :   Pleasure is mine.
Doctor :   Bye for now.
User :   None at the moment. I will wait for the details of doctors and plan for a consultation.
User :   Thanks a lot, appreciate it.
