User :   hello,
My husband and i have been trying to have kids, he had a semin analysis test with 20% motility and 43 Mil count now after a month of Vitamins his motility is 38% and count is 63 mil, what should we do now? go for IVF or IUI?
Doctor :   let me read ur query
User :   hello
User :   ok
Doctor :   can u tell me the morphology of the sperms
User :   i think its 45%
Doctor :   Do u have any issues, that preclude conception normally?
User :   i had an irregular period but now i am doing great and ovulating normally
User :   i was put on provera and femara
Doctor :   then i guess, you can try normally, before going for IVF or IUI
Doctor :   ALSO can u tell me how long have u been married ?
User :   so the increase of the results is a good sign?
User :   5 years
User :   but we just started trying a year ago
User :   before that we werent settled
Doctor :   as long as the morphology is > 50 % normal and there are motile sperms of at least 30 %, i dont think, there should be any issues for concieving normally, since you are ovulating normally
Doctor :   may i know where u reside ?
User :   dubai
Doctor :   ok
User :   so now how long should i wait?before going for either IUI or IVF?
User :   and what should i go for first?
Doctor :   i would advice you to wait for normal conception for at least 6 months
User :   and if nothing happened?
Doctor :   while being on ovulation inducing meds, as prescribed by your gynae
Doctor :   In case, it does not work, then IVF is a better option as IUI is the same thing as normal sex that u have
User :   i see
User :   ok thanks alot dr
Doctor :   you are welcome
