User :   My dad is suffering from Haitus Hernia and he has stomach ache all through the day. wanted to know how serious is this and how to get this problem resolved. Can you pls. help

Doctor :   hiatus hernias which are of sliding type (this is the commonest variety) do not require surgery.
Doctor :   out this 5% of these patients have symptoms that are related to persistent GE reflux disease and this could be treated medically or surgically.
User :   6 months. He has also consulted lot of doctors here in Hyd and did all the tests required.

User :   ok. I dont think he is overweight but due to severe knee pains he is not able to go for morning walk also.
Doctor :   If your dad doesnt have any signs or symptoms from a hiatal hernia and most people don't you probably won't need any treatment
Doctor :   avoid giving him fatty food
Doctor :   Some large hiatal hernias have lesions in the upper stomach. If severe, these lesions can bleed and lead to iron deficiency anemia from chronic blood loss, these can be fatal
User :   ok. presently through out the day he is suffering from stomach ache... sometimes very mild and sometimes it will be very high.
