Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   How can I help youy
User :   good day to you dr
Doctor :   Good morning
User :   may i know your name and which hosp?
User :   i have a question on heart disease
User :   my father is currently admitted in the Heart Institute ofr 2 weeks. He has undergone an angiogram procedure and results show that hes 3 blockages.
Doctor :   Dr XXXXX
Doctor :   Banglaore
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Continue
Doctor :   What is the question?
User :   thank u for the intro. He is 63 years old. Our DR said that he is too fragile to undergo a bypass surgery. let me tell u that he also has diabetic, presurre, and history of pneumonia. he was in the hospital past 2 weeks because the angiogram has affected him and caused infection that he had to undergo 4 sessions of Hemodyliasis.
Doctor :   ok
User :   The RP profile and pottasium level shot they have kept him under treatment to stabilize all readings
Doctor :   I have to close this chat window as you have moved out of the chat. Please log in again if you need further medical advice.
User :   so then they said they would insert a pace-maker
Doctor :   ok
User :   may i continue?
Doctor :   yes
User :   but now the drs say that they have to do an angioplasty. only then they would be able to insert the pace-maker. The Dr says that the risk is quite high in my father's cae. 0-50%. as it may further damage his kidney and have asked for our consent to carry out the procedures.
User :   Now my question, is it advisable for my father to carry out the procedure? and what are the risks?
User :   the drs say that he has to od the balloning.
User :   only then they can insert the other device.
Doctor :   The angioplasty would have the slight risk even in the normalperso
Doctor :   Being the diabetic, and kidney compromise
Doctor :   the risk are increased
Doctor :   I think the doctors explained yuo quite a bit
Doctor :   the ballooning is also needed to insert the other device that is for sure
Doctor :   Coming to the risks the kidney function may or may not deteriorate further
Doctor :   it is advised to carry out the procedure for the chance of heart failure in future
User :   So is it advisable to carry out this procedure then? Are there any other risks involved? is it life threatening?
Doctor :   with three blocks
Doctor :   not life threatening it saves from life threatening complications in future otherwise there is no point in angioplasty
Doctor :   with angioplasty the blocks are removed as far as possible
Doctor :   Then the heart should function well with good blood supply and then gives enough blood to kidney too
Doctor :   for it function well
User :   is it a normal to feel delirious or absent minded after the procedures are done for a weak person?
User :   because my father faced this after the angiogram.
Doctor :   that could be anesthesia effect
User :   a short term affect in other words? Nothing to worry about?
User :   There arent any other risks involved in doint the angioplasty other than the deteriotion of kidney? And if the kidney were to deterioted after the angioplasty, what are consequences?
Doctor :   yeah
Doctor :   If the kidney is deteriorated then dialysis is only option
Doctor :   to drain the wastes of the body
Doctor :   Since his kidney is not functioning well the affect of anesthesia, medicines and the angiogram dye etc have a long action on him than on normal persons
Doctor :   so thus the complications may rise
Doctor :   keeping in mind all these the doctors will act in the best interest of the patient
Doctor :   It is a team of doctors working to gether and you should not tbe worried
Doctor :   every specialist does his role
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   are you there
User :   yes dr. to do the angiogram, will they still use the dye?
User :   sorry i meant angioplasty
Doctor :   as they know the blockage now they directly go for the angioplasty
User :   he is no longer delirious from the angiogram. the effect has gone after 2 days or os
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   That is fine now
Doctor :   Please fill the feedback form say done when done
Doctor :   Is there any thing else that I could help you with?
