User:i have a 1 month old baby and the question was regardin him
User:he often tries to put pressure to pass motion but is unable to

Doctor:If your child is comfortable while passing stool then I don't think there is some problem.
User:but is there something we can do to ease his struggle?
Doctor:Constipation and obstruction in the rectum results in painful defecation and being comfortable while passing stool is a sign that all is fine.
Doctor:Moreover 3-5 episodes of stool also is normal.
Doctor:As the diet of the newborn is restricted only to breast milk,
Doctor:diet modification doesn't apply here.
Doctor:Further laxatives are helpful if the frequency of stool is reduced or if there is painful defection.
