User:My daughter's date of birth is 28Nov2011(38 days old) After every round of breast feed we try to make her burrp for 10-15 minutes(sometimes she gets sometimes she does not) During nights when she gets breastfeed we have observed that she inhales a lot of air as a result of which she cries a lot for hours(she loses some weight when she cries) and does not take the breast feed(does not suck).Even if we try to put colicaid she settles down sometimes but now a days she does not respond at times to colicaid, can i get an appointment with a lactation specialist.
Doctor:Hi Good morning please proceed with your query
Doctor:I understand your concern
Doctor:But the problem with a lactation counseling is it involves actual physical assessment
Doctor:we do not have neonatologists or pediatricians trained in lactation management in our panel
Doctor:even if w had one, he/she would not be able to help you through a chat
Doctor:I suggest you visit your neonatologist who examined your baby for the first time
Doctor:and ask him/her to guide you regarding the best breast feeding practices and to help you improve
Doctor:I can suggest you a few things,
Doctor:first and foremost thing, do not give your baby any sedatives like colicaid, it makes them less interested in suckling
Doctor:And refusing to feed is not a good sign, so you should take her to a neonatologist or a pediatrician,(Preferable consult a neonatologist)
