User:but still she seems to be constipated
User:also giving her enough water after every meal but can not overcome the constipation
User:i don't want her to give some kind of suppository
User:so can you suggest something
Doctor:How is the activity of the child?
User:as for activity she is doing great
User:no problems in her activity
User:she remains active all through the dat
User:eating well and sleeping well
User:only thing is that she is passing urine very often
Doctor:That is good and shows that she is well hydrated.
User:i consider passing urine frequently is because of the cold weather
Doctor:Yes. It can be due to cold weather.
User:actually the problem is that when she has the urge to pass on the motion it is very difficult for her to pass because of the hardness of her stool
Doctor:OK. Let me brief you about the condition.
User:we try to help her pass on the motion by applying slight pressure on her stomach
Doctor:The main reason for getting hard stools in infancy is diet.
User:we are trying to give her as much as fibrous foods...but nothing seems to work
Doctor:Certain food like bananas, cheese and cow's milk are known to cause constipation in infancy.
User:so we have cut down on her banana long ago..
User:on the internet i found people recommending giving her raisin soaked water
User:will that help?
Doctor:It does help a lot.
Doctor:In certain children, soy based food also causes constipation.
Doctor:Th main idea of treatment in children should be to avoid food that causes constipation.
Doctor:And give food that can soften the stool.
User:so if we soak around 3 to 4 raisins in a cup of water overnight and then give it her through out the day
User:any recommendations?
Doctor:One is as you mentioned, raisins.
User:and the quantity?
User:is it OK to what i mentioned
User:coz i don't want to over/under do the stuff
Doctor:You can give more raisins. Around 10- 15 raisins.
Doctor:Other than that, in general give her juices, fruits, vegetables and water.
User:thats what we have been giving her
User:what juices?
User:as for fruits we are giving her papaya
Doctor:Fruit juices like apples, oranges and grapes.
User:vegetables include spinach, bottle gourd, lady finger, carrots
Doctor:You are giving good fruits and vegetables for your daughter.
User:ok let me try the raisin thing...
Doctor:Along with it, give more of water to drink.
User:i will sign off from the chat now
User:yes we are giving a good amount of water to her
