Infant, difficulty passing urine, cries when breast fed. Advise? - Online Doctor Chats
This is XXXXXXX here
How are you doing?
I'm doing good
actually I have delivered baby on 23rd
How can I help you?
Thanks a lot
Are both of you doing fine?
Are you there?
I'm sorry ...internet was disconnected
No problem, XXXXXXX
is this XXXXXXX?
Tell me how can I help you
actually my baby is not passing urine properly
she has done 2 times in last 48 hours
is that normal?
Are you feeding her every 2 hours
Is she feeding properly?
but she cries very much while feeding
She is probably not able to take her feed properly, XXXXXXX
Is there any issue with your nipples?
Can she latch on effectively?
she takes in the nipples...and after few sucks , she starts crying
So she is not able to feed
Thats why she is not passing urine
and this is not normal
I've very much flow of milk...and I've got some breast knots of milk
First thing is that you need to hold her properly
This link will tell you how to hold her
I recommend the 1st position which is shown here
Its the best way
second thing is are you giving her something else apart from breats milk?
I hold the baby right in that position
Do you burp the baby properly after you feed ?
that I don't do frequently
Please do that
Hold the baby against your shoulder and rub the back of the child from up to down
Second thing, have you noticed that as soon as your baby starts crying for milk, milk starts flowing?
sometimes not...but very rare
Whenever you have that
I would suggest that you lie down on your back and nurse the baby when the child is on top of you
So basically your child lies down on you and takes milk
Or you can use the position that you are using and lie down while holding your child like that
Are you nursing your child in the night as well?
I think she gets tired after few sucks and starts crying
In the night, when she cries , I feed her... but as soon as she gets to the sleep, I stop feeding her
But that cannot be true throughout the day, right?
She cant be tired through the day
almost every time she do that
So try nursing her in a different position and burp her well
Its absolutely necessary
I think that should help
But she needs to be fed XXXXXXX
and what about my knots of milk in the breast...that is spreading in my under arms also
It is a sign that she is not feeding well
Once she starts feeding well, you will be ok
The milk is getting accumulated
I would try my best to feed her properly
I would suggest that you express the milk in a katori
Express the milk otherwise it predisposes you to an infection
You can try and feed her with a katori and spoon
But that should be absolutely clean
Breast feeding is always the preferred option
yes...but that hurts a lot to squeeze the nipples
Dont squeeze the nipples
Let me send you a picture of how you need to express milk
yes...sure...I need that
This will give you the details on how to do it
Thanks Doctor....I would try my best for proper breast feeding
This will give you a video
You're most welcome
Is there anything else I can help you with
Thanks a lot doctor...

I dont want to take a chance
