User :   my baby is on formula feed these days
Doctor :
*I mean is your child able to hold on to the breast?
User :   genuinely yes
Doctor :
Ok.
User :   but there is no milk
Doctor :
I shall explain it to you.
User :   ok
Doctor :
Generally there are very rare cases where there is no milk production due to a deficiency in the mother.
Doctor :
I mean, it is said that if a mother is able to give birth to her child normally without any problem and if her menstruations were normal,
Doctor :
there are no reasons why she cannot produce milk.
Doctor :
Apart from the hormonal factors there are other factors that can help in milk production.
Doctor :
You need to work on these.
Doctor :   If you have understood till this, I shall proceed on to the factors which you need to work on.
User :   ok
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :
The factors that are now important are mother and child bonding.
Doctor :
Follow these measures
Doctor :
1. you need to put your baby to your breast even if there is no milk.
User :   ok
Doctor :
Continue with the feeds as advised by your doctors but that does not mean that you should not put the baby on to the breast.
Doctor :
2. Learn the proper way of holding the baby,
Doctor :
alternatively while feeding you can lie to a side and the baby besides you.
User :   ok
Doctor :
Both you any your kid needs to be comfortable while you feed.
User :   ok
Doctor :   3. It is said that more the skin contact the better will be the milk production.
User :   ok
Doctor :
So if possible try to undress the kid to the diapers and if you have privacy you need to undress sufficiently, so that there is more contact
Doctor :
with you and your kid.
User :   ok
Doctor :
I hope you understand this properly.
User :   yes
Doctor :
In simple terms, try to maintain lot of skin to skin contact with you any your kid.
User :   ok
Doctor :
4. if possible make sure that the baby attends to both the breast.
Doctor :   5. Try to be close to the baby while sleeping or when ever your are free.
Doctor :
This is to make sure that you develop more of emotional bondage with your baby.
Doctor :
6. You can use artificial breast evacuation by manual process or through breast pumps.
Doctor :
7. You can visit your doctor for evaluation if all these measures fail to produce good results.
Doctor :   8. finally improve your nutrition too.
Doctor :
Afterall only if you are healthy then you will be able to feed your baby well.
Doctor :
Have you followed?
User :   Sorry to interrrupt you... After delivery, for 2-3 days there was no milk production, then my doctor suggested me PAN 40 or perimorm tablets.... after that production was adequate... but production decreases when i was unable to feed the baby for few days and now it is nearly nil.
User :   so may i start with the same tablets again
Doctor :
These medications are not over the counter medications and it is not ethical
Doctor :
for me to comment on these medications.
Doctor :
You may try these medications if it has helped you in the past after you see your doctor.
Doctor :   Have you followed?
User :   yes
User :   1 more questoin
User :   i am having cold n cough
User :   so may i feed these days
Doctor :
If your doctor suggest you to continue the medications, even then you may have to follow these measure to ensure better quantity of production.
Doctor :   As long as you do not have fever, and you are not an drugs that can affect your baby, you can feed.

Doctor :
Have you followed?
User :   what about cold medication which i am having
User :   like cetrazine
Doctor :   It is ok.
Doctor :
You may breast feed with that.
User :   1 last question :)
Doctor :
Do you have any other query?
Doctor :
Please proceed.
User :   which DPT vaccination is better painless or the painful one
Doctor :
The effectiveness of the vaccine is not dependent on if it is painful or painless.
Doctor :
As long as you take the 3 doses correctly.
Doctor :
Have you followed?
User :   its going to be the 3rd dose for her
User :   first 2 were painful one
Doctor :   That is ok.
User :   we were planning to get painless booster ddose this time
User :   is that ok
User :   or shud we go for the same one (painful)
Doctor :   It is better if you can get the same vaccine, as still no research has shown results changing the brand of the vaccine.
Doctor :
Have you followed?
User :   ok thanks
