in the IBS there will be some amount of increased acid secretion and this leads to hyper acidity symptoms
Doctor :   have you tried prilosec otc table?

Doctor :
tablet
User :   no
Doctor :   Take this tablet which is available as 20mg once in the morning in empty stomach for 5 days

this will relieve you of the pain and heart burn problems
Doctor :
also you need to continue the probiotics and other medications which your gastroentrologist has advised
Doctor :   are you there?
User :   yes
User :   what red flag symptoms should I look for durring this?
Doctor :   what you need to look for is the symptoms should get better with in 2 to 3 days
Doctor :
if the heart burn increases or diarrheas starts appearing or if the pain in the lower abdomen increase than you have to visit your gastroentrologist
User :   ok if this dosent help, dose it mean it's not ibs?
Doctor :   this hyper acidity and heart burn are a part of IBS and if it doesent get relieved with the home care it means you may have to take higher medication for its control

User :   I am scared this is cancer. I am 26 and I know its not the norm but this is whats really keeping me nervous

IBS is has a psychological cause

and it is treatable
Doctor :
No need to worry in that extent
User :   cool
User :   thats what my doctor thinks too but the fear is still there for me
Doctor :
Yes, I can understand that
Doctor :
You need to overcome
Doctor :
It is quite possible
User :   quite possible for?
Doctor :   to overcome the fear

Doctor :
You need to think positively
Doctor :
and think in line with your doctor
Doctor :
and get suitable treatmet
Doctor :
thinking will increase the psychological stress
Doctor :
which can worsen your condition
User :   true
Doctor :   So you should not continue with your fear from now

User :   when i go back to the gastrologist, should i demand a colonoscopy?
Doctor :
and be more positive
Doctor :
Not required
Doctor :
It is more of a psychological and fucnctional disorder
User :   my primary think i should get one?
Doctor :
and structurally there wont be much of a problem
Doctor :
As your gastroenterologist has asked you to wait for 1 month
Doctor :
you do the same
Doctor :
and only if necessary further tests would be done
User :   can I ask for tests to be sure and if so what kind?
User :   I mean if it was something serious the blood tests would of had that right?
Doctor :   If you are apprehensive about it you can go ahead

Doctor :
but not essential as of now
Doctor :
Yes, blood tests would have indicated
User :   well sounds good
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Is there anything else I can help you with?
