Doctor:This is Dr. XXXXXXX
Doctor:What is your age, XXXXXXX?
User:43 years
Doctor:What is your height and weight?
User:5.2 inches height and 67 kgs weight
Doctor:How long have you had this problem?
User:just recently may be three months
User:and not every month I get this but
Doctor:Do you have it at any other time or it always just before your menstrual cycle?
User:just before menstrual cycle only
Doctor:What it seems like XXXXXX, is premenstrual syndrome
User:ok is there any way I can avoid
Doctor:Do you have just itching, or do you have other symptoms like bloating, feeling low or any other symptoms
User:bloating yes. feeling low no
User:i regularly exercise
User:when ever I have my periods, I can find there is a lump in my lower stomach, which disappears after the periods
Doctor:I think we would not be able to prevent this situation XXXXXX
Doctor:We can only treat it symptomatically
Doctor:I think you can take tablet cetrizine 10 mg once a day in the morning for relieving the itching
Doctor:Also at night time, I would suggest you take diphenhydramine
User:cetrizine is to stop itching. what is Diphenhydramine for?
Doctor:However, the latter is a prescription drug,
User:what is it for?
Doctor:Its for itching
Doctor:Its a better drug for itching than cetrizine
Doctor:But it will make you sleepy
Doctor:So we cant give it in the day time
Doctor:the effect of cetrizine lasts only for 12-18 hours
User:oh ok.
User:any other multi vitamin tablets can you suggest
Doctor:Its not required
Doctor:A healthy and balanced drug is all that is required
Doctor:you need to be having atleast 5-6 servings of fruits and vegetables in a day
User:thank you doc. really helpful. I will try cetrizine first when I get the itching again this month
Doctor:But XXXXXXX, Diphenhydramine is more useful
Doctor:It will be worthwhile seeing a physician in person
Doctor:just its a prescription drug and I cant give it to you without examining you
User:sure than shall visit my regular family doc
User:thank you so much
