Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   How can I help you
User :   ok so here is the deal i am 22 years old and i was diagnosed with hypothyroid in january because my peridods changed all of a sudden from 6 days very heavy to 3-4 days very very light
Doctor :   ok.
User :   i am now 1 week late with my period and i have gotten a negative home pregnancy test and a negative doctors urine test. my last period was 6 days early, short, and very light like the ones i had before i started on my meds. at the time i didn't think about it but now i am concerned
Doctor :   are you taking medicines now.
Doctor :   If so what and the dosage and
User :   yes . . . i did some research and i saw that some women don't show up on urine pregnancy test or blood tests and my doctor told me that my thyroid levels are fine and if i don't get my period in a week i should go to an obgyn . . . it is a new doctor and i would like some advise on what tests i should have done and if it is true that some women don't show up on tests when pregnant and if i should push for an ultrasound
User :   i am taking 50 MGC of synthroid
Doctor :   Yes it is true some women do not produce enough hormone that that pregnancy kit can detect..
Doctor :   Blood test for the \same Hormone will Help you
Doctor :   Human Chorionic Gonadotropin..
User :   what is that?
Doctor :   that is the Hormone that is tested to confirm the Pregnancy
Doctor :   and more so its doubling time is needed..
User :   i am 22 years old, what other tests would you advise before i let them put me on birth control to try to bring my period back? Could i be going through early menapouse
Doctor :   No it is not that ..
Doctor :   Blood test for HCG will be suffecient..
User :   ok . . . and if it comes out negative what should i do?
Doctor :   And Ultrasound Scan Trans Vaginally will help too. in confirming the pregnancy..
User :   and if i am not pregnant? what should i do? i know this is a lot but i am a "cover all bases" kind of person. I am concerned what it means if i'm not pregnant and not having my period
Doctor :   that is due to the Hormonal imbalance that you have mentioned and you will need to consult the Endocrinologist to get the dosage adjusted..
Doctor :   That of Levothyroxine..
User :   ok . . . i got my blood tested and the doctor said that the levels are normal and that my dosage is doing the trick . . . you would advise me to see a secalist before i allow them to put me on birthcontrol to bring my period back?
Doctor :   Yes it will be the Course of action then
Doctor :   Endocrinologist..
Doctor :   will be your Specialist.
User :   ok . . . thanks . . . i feel a little bit better . . . i just moved and these are new doctors and I really don't know them like i know my old doctors
