I am a 24 year old female and I have had high blood pressure and not stable for the last week or so. Also, my left arm and left leg have been feeling tired. Do you think i need to go to the ER or should I just wait till i get better?

Doctor :   may i know your current BP and the medications that you are on ?
User :   im not taking any meds and my BP right now is 145/82 and earlier was 150/60
Doctor :   are you on salt restricted diet ?
User :   no
User :   should I be?
Doctor :   how long have you been diagnosed as having high BP ?
User :   I havent been diagnosed with it.. i just check it and ive seen its been high thats it
Doctor :   has any one formally diagnosed you to be having Hypertension or high BP ?
User :   no
Doctor :   PLEASE note , self diagnosis of hypertension is not the correct way
User :   im not saying i have diagnosed myself im just saying that my BP has been high lately
Doctor :   there are a lot of causes of HIGH BP, including anxiety

User :   i dont feel anxious
Doctor :   first, lets take it step by step

Doctor :   reduce your salt intake , and total intake of salt per day should be about 4 gms

Doctor :   increase your physical activity and adopt a healthy diet and lifestyle

Doctor :   Quit smoking if you do
User :   i dont and never have
Doctor :   if you do drink , alcohol, keep it moderate, that is less than drinks a day,

Doctor :   then, when you check your BP, you make sure that you have seated for 30 mins before taking the BP

User :   what about my left arm feeling tired today and two days ago, do you think thats anything bad
Doctor :   most of the time anxiety and white coat Hypertension, is misdiagnosed as hypertension
Doctor :   may i know what were u doing when the symptoms arose ?
User :   nothing special, I woke up and it just started
Doctor :   Did u have any weakness, difficulty to walk , dizziness, blurred vision etc ?
User :   no
Doctor :   You mean to say, that the symptoms were present when u woke up ?
User :   no they started after I woke up
Doctor :   what was the time differance of it starting ?
User :   after about an hour or so
Doctor :   any morning stifness, breathlessness ?
User :   no i dont think so
Doctor :   In that case, im sure that there is nothing to be worried about
Doctor :   these are transient and will pass off
User :   ok thats what I want to hear
User :   so I just need to be on a low sald diet and increase physical activity?
User :   salt*

User :   ok well i will try to do that
Doctor :   you do that, and you will find good benefits
User :   ok... is aspirin ok if i take one at night
Doctor :   also at your young age, dont expect serious illnesses

User :   its not a baby aspirin its 325 mg

Doctor :   as it may cause gastritis
