How to control high blood sugar? - Online Doctor Chats
Hi . This is XXXX from XXXXXXX
I have small query
this is regarding my father, age: 63
recently we found he has high blood sugar
he is located in West Bengal, my native
so, he mate with a local doctor and had some medicine for 15 days. Then is reduced to normal.
So, visited the same doctor after 15 days after it became normal.
Then doctor changed the medicines and wanted to observe for another 20 days.
we have another visit on tomorrow...but we think to change the local doctor and bring him to Bangalore for a better treatment.
I want your suggestion on this
Initially a trial of diet and exercise should be given
yes he do it regularly from his younger age...thats why we were surprised to see him with diabetes
I also need to know his initial blood sugar levels and the symptoms that he was having
his initial level was same like 350 -380
Were these fasting blood sugar levels?
Are you there?
Symtoms: There was a pain in his legs and he was not able to stop his urine motion
the fasting was: 300 and PP: 360
Any change in weight?
nope ...not significantly
What were the medicines that were given?
I.m not exactly sure about the name because he is in my native and I am from bangalore now
but it was some 5-6 medicines
Antibiabetic medicines may take upto 3 weeks to show effect on blood sugar levels
Secondly diet control is important
No sugary foods and juices
High protein diet may be taken
Pure drinking water to prevent infections
yes...that has been taken care
If you feel that the medical care is inappropriate in native, you can bring him to Bangalore
Once his treatment is stable, he will be better able to manage high sugar
yes we suspect it
Also he should regularly check his sugar levels with a glucometer at home
so you have any list of good doctors or hospitals in Banglore for diabetes?
So bringing him to Bangalore may help
For list of doctors you can go to this link- WWW.WWWW.WW
Otherwise any reputed hospital can be tried
I will go through it.
thanks a lot
thats all for now
Thanks for consulting
thanks for your help
