User:Hello doctro, we just chatted, sometime back...regarding my son's HC
Doctor:Yes I remember
User:I also told you that my maternal blood report, which was taken by lifecell showed CMV IgG positive...
User:I wanted to now check, whether my son is currently suffering from CMV or not?
Doctor:Yes, you can check it by blood tests
User:however, i found that this test can be conducted only within 2-3 weeks of birth
User:Ok....what should I quote ? can checked through CBC, or i need to quote for specific CMVinfection?
Doctor:First you consult a pediatrician, it will be antibodies to CMV, It is specific test for CMV
Doctor:But sometimes IgG indicates past infection, you son blood showed it positive may be due to you might have infection in early preagnancy
User:ok....ill do so...i am going to meet him today at would ask him for specific test for the same...
User:CMV IgG positive is reflected in my blood report...i dont have blood report formy son yet
Doctor:there are other tests like PCR test or viral culture
Doctor:then it may reflects past infection
User:however, i dont know, when CMV came and created antibodies...i.e. it came before pregnancy or during pregnancy
Doctor:better get blood tests for baby to confirm it
Doctor:I hope mostly it will be negative
User:yes...would check with my pediatrician...and would get the test done
Doctor:Ok let me know about results ok
User:lets hope so....HC have made me very nervous, and hence i dont want to take any chance...
User:yes,,,would let you know...thanks
Doctor:You son Hc is not low it is in normal range , moreover he is doing good so far
