History of heart attack. What is best treatment for spondylitis in the neck? - Online Doctor Chats
XXXXXXX this side
welcome to XXXXXXX
I had a query regarding a problem I have been facing since last few months
I had a minor heart attach last April .........
may i know your age ?
I completed 34 years last October
may i know ur height and weight ?
177.8 cm and currently 76 Kg
at the time of my attach I was 93 Kg
Last September I was diagnosed with spondalitis in the neck.
What treatment do you suggest for me now???
do u have any symptoms due to that now ?
I do regular exercises, walking & jogging...
Yeah symptoms ....
like sometimes pain in the shoulder, or neck or hand
not always but especially after talking on the mobile phone, or riding a bike or using the laptop for long hours.
being overweight, and bad posture, is the most common reason of inflammation, in the joints of the spine
but since now, you have lost weight
and your BMI is in good range your symptoms should subside
but in case, there was neurological damage, during the early days of the condition, then some symptoms can persist
yeah X XXXXXXX revealed the problem
most of your pain, appear to be due to muscle spasm, related and can be controlled easily
in addition, try to exercise the affected part, and do stretching exercises
Hope this will not pose any threat to my heart condition!!!
no, both the issues are different
this like Disprin or Crocin will not affect my heart condition
also avoid using a hand carry bag, to carry your laptop, instead use a good ergonomic laptop backpack, with proper shoulder supports
no, the medicines will not cause any such issues
nice to know this
and also use hot water bags, to help the muscles relax
Ok, infact I use Voline ointment
In case the pain is very severe and intolerable, you can consult your doctor, for a prescription of muscle relaxants , which will relieve the spasm, and hence the pain
is there any permanent solution to the problem???
like some therapy??
no, this is a musculoskeletal condition, that arises due to wear and tear in the joints and tissues
there is no complete cure
prevention by proper prophylactic measures is the best way
avoid damaging the arm, by doing excess work
Physiotherapy , can help to some extent, this is the same as regular stretch exercises, to improve the joint and muscle mobilty
hope u followed my suggestions
Hope this will serve as a prescription to lower the pain I experience
Do u have any doubts or other questions ?
Hope my current weight is Ok??
yes, your BMI is 23
which is very good
continue to work hard and exercise, so that you can either maintain the BMI or improve it further
Normally I do walking & jogging of around 7 km daily.....
that is very good
Hope this will not pose any problems to my heart condition???
no, actually exercise is very good for the heart
as it reduces the clogging of arteries
continue to do the same, and it will prevent any further such episodes
Then I have a breakfast comprising of oats, milk & XXXXXXX with no or very less amount of sugar.
sometimes I use honey in my tea....
ok , that is good too
Shall I continue to do so or am I doing something wrong???
please continue the same good work
no need to change anything
Then I use olive oil in my food which too I suppose is Ok??
Is there anything more or different that I should do in my diet ???
that is perfect
like have bananas too in the breakfast???
no, you are following good XXXXXXX habits, which were probably advised after your heart attack
continue the same
yeah, thats right
there is no need to take more bananas
if u feel hungry in between, you can have them instead
Thats a good idea
Thanks for your valuable inputs
the basics is to keep some space empty in your stomach , and eat when needed
avoid junk food, and food that supposedly tastes good
eat healthy, stay healthy
having 1-2 servings of fruits will help , along with food , or when u are hungry
whole fruits , fruit salad, or fresh fruit juice, all are ok
It was very nice talking with you
It was a very insightful chat
