User :   I'm concerned about high calcium levels in my blood
Doctor :   hi
User :   hello
Doctor :   DR. XXXXXXXX here
Doctor :   please proceed with your query in detail
User :   im a 25 year old healthy female that had symptoms of feeling faint and tired all the time (i almost passed out quite a few times), also feeling as if i needed to burp costantly(gastirc) I went to the doctor regarding it. they did glucose test which was normal. ekg which was normal and a blood test. Blood test came back today saying my calcium was 11.1. This concerns me very much.
User :   they re did a blood test today to rule out lab error. but 11.1 seems very high
Doctor :   let me read what you have typed. please give me some time.
Doctor :   i would suggest you to wait for the repeat results since your other investigations came back normal
Doctor :   have you lost weight recently?
Doctor :   is there any other symptoms associated?
User :   a little but not much
User :   just loss of energy, anxiety, decrese in sex drive, headaches
Doctor :   since it is less than 12, you need not worry, drinking plenty of water and other fluids will help
Doctor :   if it crosses more than 12, then you need to get evaluated for cancers
Doctor :   like lung cancer, breast cancer and multiple myeloma.
User :   i have read that eleven is high though?
Doctor :   is there history of cancer in your family?
Doctor :   11 is marginally increased, not significantly high, so do not worry
User :   no history of cancer
Doctor :   normal levels of calcium should be upto 10.5
Doctor :   yours is 11.1, which is marginally increased
User :   would eating to much calcium cause it to elevate?
Doctor :   yes it can at times. are you having lot of calcium rich food?
User :   i drink a lot of milk, usually with cereal and a full glass almost everynight.
Doctor :   do you have fever, bone pain, flu like symptoms, facial flushing, nausea, vomiting associated?
Doctor :   do you have fatigue, confusion, loss of appetite?
Doctor :   only drinking milk with cereals will not cause a significant rise.
Doctor :   do not worry about your eating habits.
User :   fatique, confusion, and loss of appetite but i think the loss of appetite is associated with being worried about whats wrong with me
User :   no fever, bone pain, or flu symptoms
Doctor :   wait for your repeat results, if it still shows higher than normal levels, then stop dairy products and calcium containing foods for a month, continue with having plenty of water, and repeat the test in a month's time
User :   okay.
User :   thank you so much for your time
Doctor :   have you followed what I have said?
User :   yes
Doctor :   is there anything else I can help you with?
User :   no thats it. have a godo day.
Doctor :   thanks for consulting me. bye for now. do get back to me if you have further queries. all the best
