User :   I"m 30 years old and have been feeling at times that I can feel the pumping of my blood more than I should, I just decided to go have it checked at a local safeway after work today. I do work construction but was not doing too much today before I went. My reading was 171 and 87 after reading a few things on line about possibly being in stage 2 I'm all freaked out. What do I do?

User :   I believe so first number says sys something and the other number begain with a b??

Doctor :   Since when are you having the symptoms that you described?
User :   when I took the reading it said normal levels were to be at 120 and 80 so when it came up at 171 and 87 I came home and researched online and a chart said that my first reading was at stage 2 and I needed medication???
User :   I have only been having the feeling the last month or so.....
User :   I don't normaly check it as I have always been ok on my check ups, but it has been about a year since my last

User :   Not so much in my chest per say, just feel like at times more at the end of the day that I can feel my pulse like a throb, not a major throb but enough to notice.
Doctor :   Do you have any other symptoms?
User :   No, not that I'm aware of.
Doctor :   Do you have history of Allergies/ Diabetes/ Thyroid/ Heart disease/Asthma/ paralysis /Breathing problems.
User :   my aunt is over weight and is now diabetic and my father from his 40's on has been dealing with bp and is now on medication. no other history in my family.
Doctor :   Do you smoke or chew tobacco/drink alcohol/Any illicit drugs. If yes how much/how often and how long you have?
User :   I have been smoking a bit and I have beers at night but not exsesive. I also smoke pot before bed to help me sleep.
User :   All of wich I have done for a while now except smoking, I quit for years but in the last 1.5 years more offten.
Doctor :   Ok, you need to get 2 more such high readings to be declared a patient of hypertension,
User :   Ok, but if my levels are to be the same am I at a critical level?
Doctor :   These readings must be taken on different

Doctor :   In the meanwhile you can start off with
Doctor :   lifestyle changes
Doctor :   like exercise, healthy & timely diet and quit smoking & pot
Doctor :   Yes your BP is indeed high enough
Doctor :   to warrant taking medications
